What have your favorite foods/snacks been on your journey?

Is there anything now that you can't eat anymore/makes you sick?

I cannot go throw a drunk the way I once could and loved to do. I've got a half-dose of alcoholism in my genes, so I've always been careful not to do it often, but I dearly loved to go out and get moderately overserved and holler a lot.

Found out a month into tirz that if I'm staying on tirz, then that is in my past. First drink is fine. Second drink, I feel drunk, but in an unpleasant way. Third drink I feel terrible and just want to go home. And the "wooooo" of it all is gone. Now I have to simply nurse the first drink, and "wooooo" while almost entirely sober.

I like to cook & that is actually a hobby (I like to feed people) but when I cook I'm not hungry after (I get really thirsty cooking & end up full, ha ha)

Does anyone just still eat how they used to just less? I eat pretty healthy & we cook most meals & healthier restaurant style foods etc. Just trying to get some ideas.

And also if there is a consensus of staying away from xyz, ha ha 🙂

Plain sweet potatoes.
Yum!! They're also really good cut up & a spice mix of chili powder, salt, pepper can also add a bit of garlic powder (brown sugar too but you really don't need it).

Yep, pretty much. Restaurants, especially buffetts, we are finding, are a waste.
And absolutely none of these powdered shit. I know, lots of folks live on it. Nope. I don't trust incomplete proteins, and/or shit where the aminos aren't naturally occurring. IOW, I eat meat. Also greens, taters, and not so much gluten. I'm not gluten intolerant, but why push your inards? Thanks for listening to my Tedtalk.🙂

I've been obsessed with two things. Apple slices with peanut butter and Built salted caramel puff bars. As far as things I can't stand right now, anything Italian especially pizza. I used to LOVE anything italian.

I found after quitting sugar and high carbs, I was much more satiated by rich foods/flavors than sweets.
I'll have air fried, organic chicken skin (just a few pieces) as an occasional treat. The long-term satiety far outweighs the brief dopamine rush of a sugary treat.

A tbsp of homemade coconut cream yogurt with collagen powder is also much more satiating than a carby snack.

My toxic tinfoil-hat trait is that I think a LOT of health issues lead back to modern wheat (the dwarf varieties we mostly switched to in the 50's and 60's) not being particularly healthy for or digestible by humans.

I think this is less of a tinfoil hat and more of an accurate observation! I completely agree with this assessment.

I would say I generally eat about the same, just more disciplied and healthier. We were never big on going out to eat, and ive started incorporating a heavier meal prep for dinner. As an example this week two nights for dinner we are having a chicken enchilada bowl with homemade black beans, whole grain rice, homemade enchilada sauce, homemade salda, corn, grilled chicken and sauteed peppers and onions.

I try to make two bowl a week for two dinners so I know they are covered.

Most of mine are due to carbs. I love my beer, but have cut that by 80%. I'll never drop my once a week hot chicken wings, but I can only eat 3 or 4 now. I miss potatoes, and ice cream at night. My go to now is a spoon full of cottage cheese. Boring I know.

THE WHAT NOW

Since starting tirzepatide, my go to foods are:

Fairlife milk (will never drink or use regular milk again)
Just Bare chicken nuggets
Fairlife Protein Shakes (all varieties, but like the one’s from BJ’s the most)

Most of the time I cannot stomach the thick protein drinks, impossible for me to finish. So I drink Nurri because it is the consistency of water and has 30g of protein. I also make sure to get probiotics everyday.

The wheat we consume today, by and large, is very different (genetically) from the wheat generations ago. Bred for drought resistance. They grow crops where they really shouldn't. My opinion only.
It's a pretty damned sensible opinion, in mine. Why the hell are we fighting uphill battles to grow shit in bumfuck Arizona?

I think I forgot to answer the og thread, but I have a massive sweet/salty tooth. Recent go-to snacks have been chocolate chips and pretzel sticks

Plus most of the high gluten flours sold to make pizza, breads, etc especially to restaurants are all bromated. Most of the restaurant supply does not sell any that are not, so eating these types of foods out really make a difference too 🙁

Used to LOVE Rockstar Fruit Punch energy drink. A tad too much. 4x a day = 800 cals and 240g sugar just from those.

I can barely tolerate any sugar any more. Like once a quarter I'll buy one, and it takes me three days to drink it.
