Got an email today saying my wife's global entry has been revoked because a well known vendor on this website had packages seized. So if you are a trusted traveler be very careful. I've posted in the vendor review section because it's been ongoing since April, but it's waiting moderator approval.

Just wanted to get the notice out before hand. We know we took the risk, it was a small order, but still sucks.

She can still apply for TSA precheck by itself and use the CBP MPC app when returning to the US, which usually will get people through customs just as quickly as global entry.

ETA: My husband can't get global entry because of something he did when he was a teenager, but he has TSA PreCheck and uses the MPC app. He usually gets through customs at the same time I do, and once about 5 to 10 minutes quicker than I got through global entry.

I did not know this part.
So she can still travel abroad just gets extra screening?
I would assume so. I've read that having a package seized can also revoke your passport, but she has not been notified of anything about that yet. Not sure how likely a passport would get revoked for seized packages, but guess we will find out.

This sucks. Does this also mean they're going to search your bags every time you go through Customs?

It just means she'll have to go through the longer line at customs, unless she uses the CBP MPC app, and applies for TSA PreCheck separately.

Can I assume it was a vendor shipping from China and not from a U.S. warehouse?

I've heard of people getting Global Entry revoked before, but never their passport. I wonder if someone got the two mixed up.

wow I've never heard of a passport being revoked for a customs seized package.

I hate that this happened to you guys and am surprised I have not seen more of this posted.

Over the last year with the increase of "US" warehouses, and other countries, I have seen many people post that they prefer local warehouse to avoid the potential loss of global entry or other job/career related concerns.

There is more than a zero chance that buying from a US warehouse will get you a package delivered straight from CN and obviously that comes with many risks for the foreign consumer.

If this possibility can potentially affect you, it is likely you need to source from a genuinely local vendor or a GB.

Sorry for your troubles @Bsqueezin

I hope you're right. I believe they have some secret criteria they use to screen people. 25 years ago I brought back some tulip bulbs from Amsterdam that were not approved for import. They confiscated them. I'm sure it was logged in their systems. Now every time I get my bags searched (which admittedly is rare) I wonder if it's because I'm flagged as "that tulip guy".

This is one of the reasons why I stick to vendors I know have a US warehouse & also GBs that reship.

Luckily I didn't get caught but my last china package was stuck in customs for 2 months so I thought I was cooked.

Here's a post from February, from a guy who had GE revoked:
I had mine revoked in December. Had 3 or 4 Indian packages seized. Nothing from China has been seized, but I've made several orders from China.
I turned around and got TSA Precheck and used the MPC line on my last international trip and beat my wife through the Global Entry line. I did appeal, but have not received a response. I only got to use GE once and it got canceled dang near a year to the day of receiving it. My last seized package was Azelastine allergy nose spray which is sold over the counter in the US. I can get it for $6 a bottle in India vs $15-20 in the US.

Yea I'll more than likely be searching for only us warehouses now.

is there price difference for US warehouse? I wonder if we pay a premium buying from US warehouse vs CN warehouse

This really sucks. I’m so upset for you and your wife. Don’t they have more important things to do than revoke GE from people who are just trying to get healthy?

In one of my recent posts about a vendor rant. I ordered from a US Warehouse coz of the speed and safety of it. They took my order even though they ran out of stock and basically forced me to just change my order from US to China warehouse.

People didnt think it was a big deal, I bet its gonna be a bigger deal now.

Oh man. That really stinks, I'm sorry. Thanks very much for sharing your experience, it's a good reminder of the risks we take.

I’m very sorry. Your wife did not deserve that. Can you contest it. If you could I would try.

Sometimes do you really wanna poke the bear? Next thing you know all your shipments are getting held and all your previous shipments are getting reviewed.
