I have more than a few 10mg ZEPBOUND pens that were on a fridge that stopped working.

They may have been in that fridge for over a month before I noticed that they were warm.

I placed them in a working fridge and they are chilled, not cloudy or showing visible signs of degradation.

Is it a stupid idea to try injecting one in a few days when I am due for my next dose?

Am I being too cheap and reckless by even thinking about it?

Any advice is greatly desired and appreciated.

Thank you!!!!!!!!

They should be fine, at least if they were not opened or unsealed before (causing sterility concerns).

I have bought liraglutide pens shipped from India that were also in delivery trucks in Phoenix during the summer. They worked fine, and the instructions said to refrigerate after opening (though I put them in the fridge anyway).

If they were not used at all they will be fine. My confidence level = 99.99% (0.01% deduction for the fact that nothing in the world is ever perfect)

If they were used they are probably fine. My confidence level = 85%

Mounjaro Klikpens have both preservatives, do I would think they be safe for a month ans Is personally use them. Strength likely to be fine also. Tuck them right back in the fridge though!
If I were worried and a little afraid of them, I’d start with a little small volume test dose then go up (keep track so it adds up to your usual dose, can use a website or an app like Shotsy to calculate blood levels) if there’s no weird reaction like redness.

Unless OP takes the pens apart, there is really no way to test a small volume. It's all or nothing with the autoinjector.

I personally hold no value in Eli Lilly's statements about stability, storage, or single use (for vials) of Zepbound. Lilly has a vested in interest in folks trashing anything outside their stated limitations. I think tirzepatide is a lot more shelf stable and freeze stable than Lilly would like us to think. And I'm a conservative type of person.

I believe name brand’s label says they can be at room temp for 21 days, unused.

Warm, I don’t know.

Likely won’t hurt you, just might be a wee bit less effective.

Ah good point, US zep pens are single dose no preservative. But you can inject them into a vial, or is that the one with the needle already showing? I think with those you can try slipping a sterile 23 gauge needle (on a 3cc luer lock syringe) over the zep needle and sucking the juice out. I believe I’ve also read that you can then steady the two needles connected in that way and also push the release to give the dose and it will fill your syringe.
Then put into sterile vial and either freeze the leftover material, or top up with enough BAC to go as much over 0.5% as you can stand to inject. (I’d say make the solution 1mg/ml, which is what I do with zep vials)

Personally, I would disassemble the pen before I would try either of these methods. But for OP, the easiest thing would be just to refrigerate and inject.

I wouldn't use them. The danger is not so much sterility. Rather, it's degradation of the peptide due to heat. Over a month unrefrigerated is too long. In their reconstituted state, peptides tend to degrade over time.
