Any heavy lifters out there??

Yeah, GLP-1s can zap your energy, especially lifting heavy. Sounds like low blood sugar .Try quick carbs (banana, rice cakes) 30 to 45 min pre workout and add electrolytes. These meds kill appetite, but you still need fuel. If you’re still lightheaded, adjust meal timing and intensity until you dial it in. Keep pushing, but listen to your body!

I lift 4 days a week, usually pretty heavy (5-7 RM). I've only been on Tirz two weeks but my lifts have really noticeably dropped.

5kg reps on bench
5kg reps on squat
10kg (22lbs) on Deadlifts!!!!

For only two weeks that seems like a lot

My cals are about 1700 a day
200 protein
160 carbs
30 fats

I'm a bit concerned my deficit is too aggressive (about 1000-1100cals), but i'm also hoping it's just an initial drop due to depleted muscle glycogen, and my bodies adaptation to this new nutritional paradigm.

Going forward i'm going to be way more vigilant with having pretty much all my carbs pre and post workout on workout days, if I keep dropping strength like this I'm going to have to assume I am losing dry muscle tissue at an alarming rate and dial back my deficit.

Since I found these amazing chinese vendors and their prices I am going to incorporate hgh into my protocol to hopefully help offset muscle catabolism.

From what I've heard from listening to IFBB pros talking about their cuts, I don't know that there is any standard approach. Seems to vary a lot from coach to coach, and even more if an individual is self coaching.

Anyone lift heavy weights on a GLP-1?? I have been on Reta for 3 weeks. 4 mg a week. When I lift I feel completely wasted during and after the workout. I workout hard so after the workout is common for me. A couple days I felt like I was on the verge of going hypo during workouts. Started pushing a little heavier this week because I’ve been out with an injury. I don’t know if I’m just not eating enough or what. Today I got super lightheaded almost felt like I was going down. Don’t know if anyone supplements with anything preworkout or any tips from anyone that’s been doing this a little longer then I have. Thanks to anyone with input. Appreciate it.
Lifting heavy 4 days a week, Been on 2mg Reta for the last 3 weeks and have been maintaining strength for the most part, but those first two weeks were rough.

Restructured my workouts to prioritize heavy lifts up front. It seems more like the endurance has gone down more than strength.

Just started 1mg tesa last night and slept like a baby. I’m hoping I see some strength gain from it, but cutting is priority right now.

Preworkout is your friend, that’s my best advice haha

Dieting even without GLP1 meds can zap energy for heavy lifting. The add in a GLP1 and even less cals than a normal diet and it's an even bigger struggle. I had the same issue. Lowering the weight and increasing reps helped some, but I was still run down. So, I raised carbs to 200-250g and split my training into AM/PM sessions. All 3 combined have made a huge difference in not always feeling exhausted. Plus, pre planned diet (eating at maintenance) and training breaks every 6 weeks. Even on 4mg of reta I can down 2500 to 3000 cals daily without any issues while on the vertical diet. I can also go super low and feel no hunger issues.
