Where's the best but cheapest place to buy filters? I only want to buy a few for now. I'm just getting started and trying to keep initial cost down while I buy all I need.

I was looking recently. There just isn't a best+cheapest. Not that I could find anyway.

I'm pretty jaded about Amazborg after the terrible knock-off pep pen I bought recently. Seems like anything you buy there is going to be counterfeit.

All the peptide supply places seem to want $1 to as much as $2.50 per filter for small quantities.

The best deal I could find is the Biologix 13mm filters at $.51/ea, but you have to buy a box of 100. Got any friends to go halvsies on 'em?

If you just want a few get them from somewhere like Underground Supply. I personally got the 100 pack from Biologix after my first filtering kit. I definitely recommend them when you are ready for bulk purchases.

Underground has them for $19.95 for 20. You can also get 5 for $6, but you still have shipping. I don't need a box of 100. I like the idea of splitting them. I know nobody local, so I or they would need to ship them. Don't forget your luer lock syringe.

Thanks everyone. I decided to get a starter kit from underground supply. By the time I order from multiple places it's my cheapest option for now. I should have looked there first.

Damnit I was too late...

About a dollar a piece with free shipping from China. Def look into those because 4mm is the best to avoid any loss. Even if you air and water purge the filters at the end a 13mm is going to have more loss than a 4.

I just ordered some ks-tek 3ml vials on Amazon. I wasn't sure about them, but other on-line research was positive.

I would just buy them from their official store they still shipped from china for me.

Depends on how much you are filtering. The filter manufacturers rate their different sizes based on the total amount to be filtered. 4mm is rated for <=1mL, 13mm, 1+mL - <=10mL, 30mm >10mL. https://biologixusa.com/products/syringe-filter has 13mm for about 50 cents each but a box is 100 filters. BTW, with air purge, a 13mm only has a hold back volume of ~1.6iu. HTH.

Is it ironic that we are filtering because we don't trust Chyna products (with good reason, mind you), and yet everyones' go-to is Amazborg, king of the ChynaMart products?

There was another thread here recently where many were calling into question the sterility markings on needles (the ones that turn from blue to black after autoclaving).

It's frustrating to be sure, but the best way so avoid counterfeits is to use trusted sellers.

4mm filters will require patience.

13mm filters will only require a .2ml flush. I recon with .6ml then flush with another .6ml and end up with a 1ml solution.

This sounds like a great approach. I love it. Makes much more sense then flushing with .2mL of bac since any holdback will definitely be bac at that point. Thank you.

Let me get this straight, as I'm semi confused. If I'm reconing with a total of 3ml, I'd recon with 1.5ml, filter that, then add the remaining 1.5ml to get my 3 total?

I'm not @HereKittyKitty, but under your scenario, you would reconstitute first with 1.6mL, filter and then add 1.6mL of just bac and run that through the filter, the extra .2mL is heldback in the filter is pure bac and any bacteria, particulate, etc.

Yes, this is also how I would address the holdback.

Add the amount of the holdback as a split between the recon into the lyophilized vial and the new vial flush OR recon into the lyophilized vial the amount of solution you want to create (say 1ml, 2ml, 2.5ml, etc), filter and then flush the filter with 0.2ml to recoup any trapped peptide.

Ultimately, a 13mm filter takes a 0.2ml flush. Push the additional 0.2ml through the filter at any point in time.

Corollary to this 13mm filter flush, a 4mm filter takes 0.07ml to flush. This tiny increment is another reason I don't use a 4mm filter. LOL

have you ordered from biologixusa previously? was thinking about preorder as says shipment coming in 3/30

Wanna come help me? 🤣
Kinda make sense.

I am. Even if the 3P tests look clean. Does not take much longer to do since I'm putting the peps into pen cartridges anyway.
Same. I filter everything because why not screw a filter on there when I'm moving it to a new home anyway. I use a 4mm filter for everything but KLOW, and I do not bother myself about the 0.5 mg max I might lose in the holdup. I got more.
