Black Market Weight Loss Drug Bust

“It’s not a controlled drug. It’s a legend drug — so it’s still a controlled drug to a certain extent.” Even after the arrest they’re still not sure what was in the vials. And, they do not know what the legal status of what was in the vials except that even if it was a GLP1, they don’t know what that means
now we know where all that unsold gliptide inventory ended up

We consider this a violent crime…..omg…..she also shipped them out of Tennessee which would make it a federal crime if the Feds want to get involved ….. not smart. Did the Medspa’s get an extra special COA? Lol
She doesn’t have to ship them out of Tennessee for it to be a federal crime. Her activity just has to affect interstate commerce. Since she’s buying them from out of state, directly or indirectly, that affects interstate commerce. As a lawyer, I know almost everything is found to affect interstate commerce.

Yes, true she violated FDA laws but also shipped them out of state to sell them wasn’t very bright either …..

The deadly weapon thing is really throwing me for a loop.
I think this is reasonable. This place, Peppys, etc., try to make it very clear to people what the risks are around buying "research chemicals." We know that there are potential contamination issues in the base product, that reconstitution is another vector for contamination. We know that without testing we might not even know what we're getting. We know that some of these labs have ties to other labs that produce opioids.

These people thought they were getting legitimate versions of the drugs and were confused when they had to show up at someone's house. It's obvious she wasn't informing them of the risks. And there really are risks, potentially even life threatening ones.

Selling these to a Med Spa was probably the kicker. It's one thing to be selling "research chemicals" directly to buyers. It's a whole other ballgame laundering research chemicals into legit pharmaceuticals that people trust are FDA approved and administered under medical supervision
I wonder why the med spa didn't get in trouble. They knew what they were doing too.

Big pharma needs this to be scary enough to make a few more billion.
Yup….. waiting for the companies to mention that some of them
Might be tainted with fentanyl precursors , which is a lie but that is why you say “may”…..lol……I wonder if the vials at the weight loss clinic have the research warning?

Where did you get 'fentanyl precursor' story? SRY was indicted for attempting to sell a different synthetic opioid, stronger than fentanyl. Not a fentanyl precursor.

The indictment and subsequent news talked about fentanyl precursors wrt the other companies that were indicted. You're correct that sry was doing another opioid but it all got lumped together in the same post by the feds

China is the world’s largest producer of precursor chemicals for fentanyl and meth. They supply the Mexican gangs well. China . use to make a significant amount of fentanyl but China banned fentanyl production in 2019. So they just switched to selling precursor chemicals.

Sry was indicted for money laundering and importation of protonitazene. More potent than fentanyl. Developed in the 1950’s it was never used due to severe side effects and its tendency to unalive folks. It became popular in 2019 when China banned fentanyl…..

I am glad you finally read the indictment

I see that people are writing that the prosecutors are using multiple charges to make this a big deal. Somewhere there was a DA who felt that ALL these charges were a good place to start the haggling to get to -at least- a plea agreement.

By the looks of that house, I think she ought be to be able to get to $100k bail, no?

Does anyone have a pacer account or whatever Tenn. uses who can give us the date of her hearing?
