Hey all,

So recently 2 months ago, I decided to jump back on higher dose Retatrutide while maintaining muscle.
Was low dosed just for the other effects at 2mg weekly.

Im currently using 6mg and experience no muscle lost as a recent dexa scan proved, so my question is how many experience that samething who train for shows etc... what dose did you get up to before noticing muscle loss. Im thinking of moving to 10mg weekly spilt 5mg 2 x week.

Any solid input would be great

Im 6'5
216lbs
11.8% bf
9% visceral

What are you basing your doses on? Meaning why 2mg and 6mg and 10mg? Whats the expectation at each level?

I'm not a body builder, but resistance train regularly. Have not noticed any muscle loss at all. Being leaner (and eating better) seems to make me stronger, not weaker in my sets. Or at the very least the same strength as before starting reta. And muscles/skeletal structure more visible.

I see a lot of anecdotal stuff on twitter/youtube of bodybuilder types saying they eat whateve they want and don't bloat, stay lean and still hit their max reps or increase, etc. I think studies and/or the thousands of posters online say the same.

I even read once that pro athletes have been taking reta for years, but no way to confirm that. But wouldn't be surprised. I mean if you need to stay in top shape, even during off-season training, it will help imho.

thr only way to loose muscle while on glp1 is to not eat at all and be a potato couch like they do in hollywood
simple as that
You can lean bulk on reta easily if you can eat in surplus

If you can eat 2800 cal daily on 6mg reta sinlge pin weekly and low food noise dont titrate up
it make zero sens to go higher unless you want more appetite suppresion

split dosing is bad
i can split 12mg with 3 pin weekly with zero side and almost no appetite suppresion
but a single pin of 6 mg get me going all week and i get all i need
the Spike is everything

I'm not a bodybuilder, but I am extremely lean right now. I'm 5'9", 124 lbs , and 9% BF, and have been using reta for 9 weeks now, and 2 weeks ago, I added cagri. And ever since I started taking reta, I have not experienced any muscle loss. in your question you asked what dose it takes to lose muscle, I don't think there's necessarily a dose, it's more that if you are on reta and you don't work out and barely eat and sit around all day and not eat protein, then, yes, most likely you will lose muscle. But reta does not cause muscle loss. It is being on reta and losing weight while not training and not eating protein is what will cause muscle loss, or even not being on reta and losing weight while not training and not eating protein is what will cause muscle loss.

What are you trying to accomplish by adding more Reta? You are lean and even if you want to get leaner, you wouldn't have that much to lose. 10mg weekly does not make any since at that level of BF, especially with the goal of adding or even keeping muscle. If your numbers are right, you only have about 25 lbs of total fat on your body. We are talking losing small amount of weight. Less than 9 lbs would get you at 8%. 10mg of Reta isn't for small amounts of weight.

Reta also does not preserve muscle mass in a cut. It helps prioritize burning fat, but if you cut too fast at a low bodyfat, you are still going start losing muscle. Bodybuilders don't max the dose of Reta to try and drop weight as fast as possible. They use it, generally at low doses, it to make cutting easier. They are still running modest deficits.

Also, your numbers don't make sense. Visceral fat is usually about 10% of overall fat. I don't know that it would even be possible to have 11.8% bodyfat and 9% visceral fat. My last dexa was 8.6% bodyfat and I had like .3 lbs of visceral fat.

So the visceral fat numbers don't make sense and you want to beat the hell out of your system to run a ton of Reta at low bodyfat. If you drop 2 lbs of fat a week it will probably kill you in 2 or so months, so at least you have that going for you.

Lean mass 150.5 lbs
Fat mass 14.3 lbs
Visceral fat 0.4 lbs

Reta does not cause fat loss directly. it is indirectly as a result of people running large calorie deficits. it really does seem to be mostly a function of deficit, now how you achieved that deficit. I’ve always found this interesting. 500cal seems to be the tipping point where lean tissue is risked.
