Cincinnati CBP seized $3.5 million in counterfeit pharma

They don't make a lot but Google said it's absolutely the norm to pull another 45k in overtime! You could be happily married and support a girlfriend and drug addiction on the side.... wait. Are Oakleys still in? I remember the special forces guys always had 160 dollar Oakley in the 90's..... I won't spend more than 15 cuz I go through a pair every 3 weeks.
The 1811 series jobs make great money. They go noncompetitive to GS-12, get 25% for Administratively Uncontrollable Overtime, Law Enforcement Available Pay, Overtime, FLSA. I retired in 2016 and was pulling about $150k not including all of the per diem.

I well remember end of the fiscal year during my Air Force career - the squadron had to spend down everything - one year we bought artificial potted ficus trees for the building lobby and an $800 theater popcorn machine for the lounge. And we had a heck of a Christmas party prepaid in September with last year’s funds. 🤣🎉

These agents are most likely saying "Why in the world are we shifting our focus away from fentanyl to this?" Already knowing from people in their own circles how beneficial these drugs are.
I didn't even think of it from that perspective.

I agree fentanyl is a huge problem. I think different ports of entry have different priorities based on where most of their freight originates.

The USA has always been faster to hurt its own people than help them.

The list of highest incarceration per capita summarizes our issues neatly.
  • El Salvador: 1,659 per 100,000
  • Cuba: 794 per 100,000
  • Rwanda: 620 per 100,000
  • Turkmenistan: 576 per 100,000
  • United States: 541 per 100,000 🦅🦅🦅🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
On the low end...
There are two ways to look at this information and neither is an uplifting conclusion.

If we believe that a nation like Norway has a reasonable incarceration rate, why is America's 10x higher? Ten times!

If our 10x rate is reasonable then we are a nation of monsters.

On the other hand, if Americans aren't that different than Norwegians, then we have a massive over-policing problem.

Even if the truth is somewhere in between, say Norway is under-policing by several times, the USA still looks insane.

If grey GLP-1 meds start taking real money out of pharma's pocket, today's news could be just the beginning.

Be careful. There is a large system out to get you. Don't be the easiest target.
“We’re monsters” was the answer. Our society is ugly. People are hateful, disrespectful and dirty. Walk down a street in Japan and you’ll see the difference immediately. It’s a different culture. The norms are different.
