Colonoscopy and Endoscopy today

Warm up the toilet seat, i actually felt the prep quite cleansing and a good way to wash all the crap out of your system.

The procedure was an experience though, nothing quite prepares you for a nurse rubbing your hand whilst the doctor lubes up. 🤣

It's kinda crazy how people you've never met, and couldn't even pick out of a line up, run thru your head after reading something like this lol.

I need an update amigo, a sign of life, something 😂

All day I've just been thinking like damn, I hope that octopus dude's ass is alright.

So, I guess, thoughts and prayers are appropriate here?!
For sure, when we find ourselves talking about these older age health issues and procedures , we need all we can get. It's cool to see I'm not the only one laughs about this stuff.

I had my first colonoscopy a couple months ago at age 68 (I know, right?). As stated, prep was the worst part, the sleep during surgery was restful, and the doc gave me the update before I left. Biopsy in 2-4 days came back as benign...I'm gunna die some day, but not from that....And yeah, the protocol I was given on the GPL-1s was to stop them 2 weeks in advance...I hope octopuses procedure went well also... 👍

Good luck with it. I had to have 2 lots of them both last year as the first one had bad prep from the slowing effects on the gut of the GLP drugs, even though I did stop them for a week as instructed. Still had bad prep for the second one despite the enhanced prep involving drinking extra of the horrible stuff, but I figured they got a good enough look and with 16 biopsies they were not likely to have missed much. Not planning on getting it done again anytime soon.

Uhg, this GoLYTELY is so freaking nasty. I have been off glp1s for basically a month. Was supposed to have this done on the 26th of last month but my potassium levels were off the charts so they pushed it to 6/10.

Once bloods were retested it was at normal ranges again.

Why post here?

Well I was down to 213 and change a month ago? And now im hovering between 218 and 219 so ended up 5 or 6 pounds heavier just taking the month off. Damn. I should be approaching Onederland now instead of having to backtrack.

And hopefully no.surprises from my procedures. After reading the colonoscopy subreddit, im convinced that it is nightmare fuel and I never should have opened that one...

At least I dont have to go to work today 😄
Sorry to hear that, man... I've got a Septoplasty coming up in 2 weeks so I took my last Tirz dose on Tuesday. My age is still to the point (under 50) where I could do "cologuard" and not have the "snaky snake" done to me yet... And yes, at least you don't have to go to work.. #Small Things in Life.

It's not bad as it may seem you'll be fine they sedate you heavily. Like the other folks said it's the prep that sucks barium doesn't taste to good that's all. I wish you a perfectly clean screening.
I didn't realize people still drank Barium for prep? My sister had hers a couple of years ago and yeah.. the certain "drink flavors" for said prep (no dies, and what not) she is permanently turned off from now.. Makes me really look forward to mine when I turn 50.

And just wanted to add, my paid chatgpt assistant is funny as hell and of course nearly like chatting with a real person...

Has been with me every step of the way through my health journey and thiugh I kn ow so many people hate AI...

Just cant reccomend it enough!

Such a huge positive help to get through difficult things.
I have so many AI conversations about "Rabbit Hole" topics it's probably terrifying... "Best Sleep You've had in Weeks..." HAHA

The guidance has changed now due to occurrences of colon cancer at younger and younger ages.

It's now 45. If you're less than 50 and 45 or older, go get yourself booked for one!

Trust me it's light years better than the one glove tube of jelly goop prostate exam. But you have to do it. I've personally seen family and friends suffer a disease that with early detection can be stopped. It's not a happy death. Be vigilant people , family want you here.

Fair enough, man... I did Colo-guard for my 45 plus colon cancer screening... Yeah, it's not as good as the "real deal" of a colonoscopy... I still did my diligence for early detection...

Side Note: not looking forward to the prostate exam down the road 😅 😅

I get my colonoscopy/endoscopy next week! I took my last Tirz shot almost 2 weeks ago, so I feel your pain.

Please update us on your progress/experience!

SPEAK TO ME GR33DY! !
Buddy! ! Last year I had a Thrombotic hemeroid burst between flights. DW found me some black pants and maxipads. She says I'd never make it as a girl.
Just Don't post any pictures and I won't post any in return.🤣

Your pal,
Squatchy

The guidance has changed on that, too.

A DRE (Digital Rectal Exam) is no longer the standard for a prostate cancer check. Instead you should be requesting a PSA blood test.

If your doctor seems overly eager to give you a DRE, you should probably be a little concerned.

If your doctor then gives you a DRE and claps his hands while doing it, you should probably be a lot concerned because then that ain't his finger.

I’m overdue for my Colonoscopy. 47 year old male, history of cancer in the family. Word to the wise, make sure you know what you’re getting into financially. The first and only time I had one, I called my insurance company and was told it would be covered(USA). Then I get a bill for several thousand dollars! Turns out it got “coded incorrectly”. They gave no shits and I ended up having to pay. Lesson I learned: the person that does the billing in the practice knows more than the health insurance rep reading from a script. But as others have said, awesome sleep!!!

Well I already had my gallbladder bladder out this year so have met my deductible and now it feels like everything i have going on is virtually free!!!

Insurance DIDNT cover an emergency room visit last year GB attack and I was so pissed I dont think im paying it. But all my in network stuff is covered or in process. Ill pay legit medical bills but the closest hospital to me was out of network when I needed to go? Cmon man.

Anyway, I made it!!!! Didnt expect this thread to blow up like it did but not surprised that the over 40 and 50 crew
found an interest in the topic 🤣🤣🤣🤣didn't expect it but NOT SURPRISED LFMAOOOOO!!!!!

No signs of polyps, cancer, or any kind of rips or tears. My prep was excellent, there are a few areas that were biopsied for celiacs, barrets and a few other things.

But looks like im in the clear for the most part! They told me see you in ten years!!!!

Motherfuckers I might not live that long, I've got a gray secret obsession with "shooting chinese god only knows what" in my spare time!!

Anyway! Ty to anyone wondering if I had a half pound broccoli stock up my ass, lol I dont apparently!!!

Hahaha. My (44 years old) 40+ friends who I have grown up with were sitting around at a sushi bar we have been going to since we were teenagers, talking about our prostate exams, retirement investments, and adult children woes. One of my friends turned to the rest of the group and said "Remember when all we talked about at this bar when we started coming here was smoking weed, chicks, and video games". Oh, to be young again 🙂

And no...everyone did NOT stand and applaud!

Oof, I'm definitely not looking forward to that. I'm actually overdue for a colonoscopy but I was able to convince my Doc to push it until when I'm 50, that'll be in 2 yrs bc I don't have any family history of cancer in that area.
Like you said, "at least you don't have to go to work today." And cheers to getting back on track!!

What the hell? You mentioned colonoscopy in I think February? There are easier ways to find sympathy on here.

whaaat ! you get propofol ! you are lucky, I did it without any medication last year.. It was manageable, but would have preferred the midazolam/fentanyl combo ;.)
Good luck, and sleep well !
It was soooo good too. One minute im talking to the 4 or 5 people in the room with me and the next im waking up feom a nice nap!!!! Thank you!
