Eli Lilly ending tirz shortage

Yes, this would effectively end compounding tirz… I suspect China will still make it. Unfortunately I also suspect Lily will pressure the Chinese government to crack down on its non- Eli Lily production since China approved the drug in May of this year. It will be interesting to see.

China may continue to make it, but I think the problem may be in getting it past US customs inspection. Right now Lilly probably isn't losing enough $$ to research triz to worry about it too much. That may change when the hordes of current compound triz users are forced to either A) Go off the med B) pay Lilly's exhorbitant price for retail or C) find another source.

Nothing in customs will change.

I don't see it being any more or less risky than it is now.

Getting through customs will not be difficult. Had to tell a peptide from cosmetic chemicals. Compounders will be forced to stop.

We live in a country that cannot stop Fentanyl...

Of course not China supplies precursor chemicals in large quanties to Mexico well … Chinese government even gives them manufacturers tax incentives …..::

Even if getting it through customs gets harder, the Chinese companies probably won't just shrug their shoulders and give up. There would just be a higher priority on domestic shipping/warehouses and an increase on price. There is already domestic warehouse tirz for sale from QSC and probably others.

I figure if enough people are successful in moving to research, you are going to start seeing a lot of 5 o'clock news pieces about people hurting themselves using research peps. True or not I imagine the next step is to try and put the screws on the end user since it will be too hard to stop it coming into the country, just like fent.

Not sure what the screws are going to be but I would not be shocked to see peps put on the controlled substance list.

I had a patient at the walk in clinic I work a couple weeks ago that overdosed on compounded tirzepatide. She took 10 mg of it . She hadn’t taken it for over six months, but for some reason kept it. She was on compounded semaglutide and mixed them up. Severe dehydration, nausea, vomiting , diarrhea, muscle cramps, dizziness. She looked horrible.::: didn’t call the local news though lol

I'm skeptical. Some people are a mess and some have mental issues. Some people take other things and are not forthcoming. I hate to see a good thing slandered.

The fen-phen was an excellent drug that helped millions but had to be taken off the market because a hand full of people had some problems. I was so pissed off. My wife was doing so well and starting to look hot again when they stopped the party.

A friend's wife was on Wegovy. It had been on backorder for months. When she started taking it again she did at her ending dosage... just 1.7mg. She was so sick. I knew exactly what was going on and told him to get her to an urgent care... he didn't. She suffered for 5 days straight vomiting, dehydrated.. everything you stated.

That's my biggest concern. I'm hoping to have enough in the freezer to last a few years by the time that happens.

Heart valve damage is pretty big side effect

That's awful, but, dare-I-say almost reassuring, in a way. I was afraid that once you build up a tolerance to the meds it could take at least a year or 2 before they might be effective for you again. Maybe if the tirz stops working at the high doses I could do something else for a few months, then go back to tirz? I have a absolute horror of going back to constant food noise, zero appetite control, hungry-all-the-freakin'-time, food-addicted, obesity land.

Yeah it was horrible for her. Toradol, Zofran a s 2 liters of fluid helped ……

What is your comfort level when it comes to how long it might last in the freezer? I have considered doing this a few times but always stop myself because I just can't stand the thought of buying a bunch of peps that will either go bad before I can use them or wont need to use at all.
