Hey guys and girls,

I have absence epilepsy, and I’m wondering whether taking peptides could have any negative effects while I have epilepsy and am taking anti-epilepsy medication.

I would take: Reta, MOTS-c, DSIP, NAD+.

It's impossible for anyone to say "no, it won't."

I'm not familiar with absence epilepsy, but I do know that epilepsy in general often seems to trigger in mysterious ways from both known and unknown triggers (or at least that's what I've observed in a friend who suffers from it). It occurs to me (and probably already occurred to you) that it's not just the risk of potential interactions from those compounds, but there could also be a physiological stress response caused by the process of injecting new things in your body for the first time and that stress response itself could be causal.

If you survive the experience, you'll have to let us know!

-- I am not a doctor and have had ZERO formal medical training beyond simple first aid and CPR. Treat anything I say accordingly --

On the surface I want to say no. The only thing that any of these peptides have in relation to known epilepsy triggers is fatigue. But we also don't know how any of these peptides will interact with any other prescriptions meds that anyone might be taking. Its going to be a risk. It would be a risk even if a doctor was involved. This is true of ANY drug that anyone might take at any time. The only real way to find out how your body will react is to take some.

So my advice will be the same as I would give to anyone. If you choose to start using something, start with a low dose of one thing at a time and do not increase a dose or add something new for a few weeks to make sure you know what you've already taken is doing.

I will document my journey, maybe making some YouTube videos about everything.

This would be my concern: stress response.

I am not a 20yo with strappingly perfect health but I don’t have anything overly unusual going on with my health/ electrical system.

Somehow my scalp KNOWS when I start injecting NAD+. There’s no way it’s traveling from my belly fat to my scalp in a second. Maybe I’m a dunce and it somehow fires things up. (I’d be happy to become un-ignorant if someone has some literature). Something neurological is going on that doesn’t happen with tirz (also in water) or my hormones (oil based injections in similar body locations as peptides).

It’s not too significant, my hair feels like it stands on end much like goosebumps. Sometimes it just at the nape, sometime just at the back of my head. I haven’t been following the protocol that’s floating around, mainly taking 20-25mg 2-3 times per week. December I didn’t take much. Reaction varies, doesn’t seem to depend on age of mix (although my NAD had less bite at the end of 4 weeks).

At first it kind of freaked me out, now it’s a minor enjoyment.

My advice is to trial one at a time as @MsGizmo mentioned. One variable at a time makes for good research and keeps troubleshooting possible.
