GLP-1s 'cheating' OR a TOOL

There’s no way for me to not broadcast, unfortunately, my using of it or other gear. I’ve jumped up and down powerlifting weight classes for years. It’s just too obvious but I’ve always been happy to tell people about myself and what I do if they ask. Nicely.
Or if the doctor gave her too much too soon. I wish I had saved the study that someone else posted a while back that showed the rate of people who quit taking a GLP1 at what dose and how early. It basically showed that a whole lot of people where being given the max dose in their first week by their doctors. Surprise those people had problems.

Even my husband was started off at double the beginning dose. If I hadn't already gone through the process with my mother I wouldn't have known. I was able to ensure that he only took .25 mg instead of .5 mg for those first 4 weeks.

we are being extra judged- like hey girl- why you still fat right now when you can afford a solution”

Yep. Judgy-McJudgerson is exactly where it’s heading. GLPs are in my neighborhood, and it’s like the South Park episode. Talk is: “Who’s on what, and why can’t my husband get prescribed?”

It’s been .. interesting.

It's not the most unreasonable thought to have, but at the same time, it is weird to assume someone else can afford the "solution", especially when you're talking about "legit" sources rather than grey market.

That said, I do think people do need to just mind their own business. If someone isn't on GLP-1s, then they have a reason. Might not be one I agree with in every case, but it's not my body in the end.

Yes to all of this.

For the general Rx market, it depends on income brackets. The “haves” will have it. They will ferret out where. If not an Rx then the spa that compounds will get word of mouth marketing.

It’s funny how gray just smears the class/income line. Yes people should MTOB.

It will become the new Botox in certain circles. Meaning: assumed that everyone has had a little. Like orthodontic braces.

Hi all!

I am having an interesting spiral of thoughts right now.. I see so many people online saying GLP1s are 'cheating'.

But lets be real. How is it cheating if it isn't a game? This is life. This is my health and my journey in taking back my body and being able to live the healthy life I should have been living all along.

GLP-s aren't cheating. You can only see it as cheating if you see weight loss as a competition. And that is an issue you need to look into yourself for, I understand you did it the 'traditional' way, but then why don't we view other medications for life changing disorders as cheating?

Be real. You are jealous that now you are losing the 'game' that you have created in your head, because there is now a tool for others to reach the health they need. Lets uplift each other, this is an amazing journey, and the first step is knowing that you need to lose weight to take back your health.

Thank you for coming to my TEDTALK 😆
This idea that the only true and honest way to weight loss is through punishing hours in the gym is a ludicrous one.

If you are obese and want to not be obese, whatever long-term solution works for you is the best solution. Typically, obesity brings with it a host of cocommitant health issues and creates higher risk of cancer.

I don't listen to the noise that tells me I am cheating. After a lifetime of being HWP, I doubled in size after a brutal assault by the person who immediately became my ex-partner. I stumbled upon GLP-1 medication via dx of an obesity-related chronic illness. I am, again, of healthy body size and my chronic illness is in remission. Let's keep it that way.

Really, no one else has any say in how I manage my health except my doctor. Any person who thinks they do is sorely mistaken and will be advised accordingly.

Wishing everyone huge success in their journeys.

I've finally lost enough so that people I haven't seen for a bit notice. My default reply when they ask how is "Drugs". I enjoy the shock value. My wife thinks its hilarious how I dgaf about telling people.

Most inevitably chuckle and then make a comment about how they need to work out.

I'm curious as to how the fitness industry/food industry has fooled everyone into thinking that gym work is the key to weight loss vs consumption.

Don't you think the gym work=results fits the concept of CICO?

If you're an American, the "success only through hard work" mindset is our national mantra (and it's false at every level) of Rugged Individualism and the "self made man". It's what we know. Anything else is cheating. Flat out.

(I reject the cheating concept in its entirety)

Yeah it is CICO but I think the big "lie" is the sheer amount of work per double cheeseburger is mindblowing. I just feel like people in general have zero idea how much cardio or strength training or anything is equivalent to a calorie. Their entire gym session that they feel good about wiped out by 2 mountain dews.

When someone asks I always tell them the easiest way to lose 10lbs is really really simple. Just track all the things you consume. Don't even have to try to eat less, the sheer act of connecting the calorie amount to the things you put in your body will make you eat less. They look at me like I have a 2nd head. Then start talking about 10k steps......

Here is one reason for it

For the record Coca cola has been promoting this mindset since at least the 80s.

Most definitely people have no clue what it takes to burn whatever they're ingesting. They also don't realize it is 80% what a person eats and 20% movement.

10k steps makes my head explode. Please don't say those words to me again. 😂🤣

If you're obese, people call you fat and lazy. If you try to lose weight, people will critique your diet, exercise or quality of living and tell you you're doing it wrong and will fail. Take a GLP-1 or have surgery, people criticize you for have not having the will power to do it on your own.

Regardless how you lose weight, people will criticize you for it. Do it for yourself and no one else. At the end of the day, its you who has to look at you in the mirror.

To me, the people who only eat healthy food are cheating. I'm thinking that if I only allowed myself to eat the bad-tasting food they eat, I'd be thin too.

As many have expressed, "cheating" what? I'm not an athlete, I'm not held to any standard. My cup can runneth over with every single goddamn substance on the WADA naughty list and that's ok. I'm doing what I need to do to survive and thrive.

I don't particularly care what anyone else thinks of what I'm doing. If anyone wants to judge me, they can fuck off.

The world would be a better place if we all just supported one another and when we noticed someone lost a great deal of weight, the only thing said would be, hey, congrats.

Using Performance enhancing anything should never be considered cheating for the average person.

you arent an athlete in a professional sports league(and even then I have some pretty wild takes regarding that), your only competition is yourself. Get better every day, its just You vs. You.

Most people who assume anything PED related is 'cheating' either have borderline zero functional knowledge of how PEDs or GLPs work, or they're too scared to make the leap and are jealous of the people who do.

Still gotta do the work. Don't let a hater shade your shine 🙂
