Is Tirz even something I should consider for 10-15lbs?

I'm also doing the same thing right now. I used to lift often, but have totally let myself go for the past year or so. ended up back at beginner-ish lifts and about 22% bodyfat which looks skinnyfat and really feels like crap. now I'm no stranger to cutting because I sadly am prone to letting myself go like this. I've lost non-negligible amounts of weight several times throughout the years.

anyway I did a bulking phase and got back up to "early intermediate" lifts. now I've got at least 8kg to lose, while trying to keep as much lean muscle as possible.

so after reseraching here, I've started using Tirzepatide. this is my first time using GLP-1s and so far (10 days) it's been quite effective. I've been able to have pretty extreme caloric deficits while doing a lot of cardio and still feel energetic and not starved.
that said, 10 days is very early in a cut and the energy and strength drops are soon to follow, which means I probably won't be able to get away with these extreme deficits for much longer. however I feel like Tirzepatide might make it possible to just maintain a reasonable diet even post-cut: we'll see (as mentioned, so far I've only used Tirz in conjunction with big caloric deficits...)

anyway @Mewtwo feel free to update about your status, I'm interested to see how it's been going.

I've been working out for a few years now and built a little bit of muscle mass. I went from 115kg to 100kg at 5 foot 10 in the last 2 years with natural body recomposition - losing fat and adding muscle at the same time (which is possible when you're coming from an obese position).

My weight loss stalled over a few months and that's when I decided to go on Tirz in August. I've now dropped to about 88kg and I'm starting to look somewhat fit looking for the first time since my early 20s (I'm 40). I've probably another 6kg or so to go before I start looking genuinely cut. I'll decide then if I go off the Tirz for a bulk.

The problem I have faced since going on Tirz is my calorie deficits have probably been too large and I've lost strength. I've went from benching 100kg for reps a year ago to now struggling to get more than 6 reps at 80kg. That's where I was about 6 months in to getting fit again... but yeah I've committed now to getting proper cut and I'm just hoping when I do bulk the muscle memory kicks in and the extra calories I consume convert to lean mass.

these are some really nice numbers, great job!
people say muscle memory should help you here. my experience has been at odds with this (it always took me a while to get the strength back up) but I've always been a slow gainer. at your strength levels it should be fast.
