The difference one year makes.

295 -> 157.5 lb
133.8 -> 71.4 kg

Regiment:
- 1200 calories per day
- Multiple multivitamins per day
- 3x liquid IV packets per day
- >100g protein daily
- GLP1s for 8 month (stall was while I took a break from shots but ate the same)

What went right:
- Went from 100 mg of Losartan HCTZ per day to being told I need to eat more salt to raise my BP
- Started 2024 with taking 22 prescription pills in the AM and 13 at PM, now down to 1 in the AM and 0 at PM
- I'm a 5'10" male. I can't shop at Costco for clothing anymore, unless it is in the kid's section 🥲
- Perfect blood tests + chronic illnesses are the most controlled they have been in my life
- 169 day streak of counting calories
- Look at food now as fuel instead of a way to handle emotions
- I feel and am healthier than anytime previously in my life

What went wrong:
- Hit low iron, make sure to keep getting regular blood tests. Noticed it when I started to be extremely lethargic, cold, and eventually light headed when standing up... all in a two week span
- Eustachian tubes are now "gaping caverns", would not recommend
- Need a butt pillow on computer chair to avoid soreness

Goal for 2025:
Year of the muscle gain. 💪👁️👄👁️💪

how bad is loose skin?
Zero loose skin anywhere on my body.

and you're the guy who told me i was being too aggressive with weight loss.
Let's compare our weightloss journey.

Me: Phase 3 Reta dosing schedule with blood tests every 2 weeks + monthly check-ins with PCP and nutritionist.

You: Three GLP1s in 1 month, blood in urine, enlarged prostate, 19 different things all at once, 10x dosage of HGH, fish sperm, and a new hole in your stomach.

Zero loose skin anywhere on my body.
really? i started at 5'11" 300lbs so i'm hoping and praying i can get so lucky as to not have to get loose skin surgery at the end of this journey.

i'm 34 years old, so hoping i've still got some youth on my side that'll help on that front. i'm not super hopeful though. preparing for the worst, hoping for the best, yada yada.

Insane progress, congratulations! It's not just the weight, but all the health gains. Wishing you the best for the new goals.

My progress is not as dramatic, just 145 days since starting, 20% weight loss, I'm halfway ish.. 39 lb down, another 35-40 to go. Very close to getting into normal BMI, finally.

Swapped my gerd meds for H2 blockers, last week I had to lower my blood pressure meds, I was getting too low.

Wow! Nice job!

Me: Phase 3 Reta dosing schedule with blood tests every 2 weeks + monthly check-ins with PCP and nutritionist.
Why are doing biweekly blood tests, is it to monitor a medical condition? Here I am thinking blood test every three-months is a lot.

+5 points for the oyster harvesting 🤣

I love reading about your loss, because it's one of the most impressive ones, speed wise, I've seen. I've lost quite a bit of weight over the past year as well, but it really slowed once I hit close to your starting weight and I still have 40 to 60ish pounds go. It looks like your rate of loss never slowed and that makes me curious if you think there was something specific about your routine that helped in this sense, or if Reta played the key role.

Also, do you mind sharing your age? I'm really curious about your loose skin or lack of loose skin after losing nearly half of you too. I'm going to be a parachute of skin when I'm done. Do you have any theories about what might have helped your skin recovery during this past year? Beyond just calories and daily protein, what did your meals look like?

Thanks in advance!

Mid 30s.

Yea, I am surprised that I don't have any loose skin at all actually. I stopped exercising after I went on Reta too so it's not like muscle is getting build in areas...just naturally shrinking down.

Most meals are vegan. Ex: impossible burger pattie with frozen veggies. Started getting A LOT of frozen veggies bc it has been super easy just scanning a bag with MyFitnessPal and throwing it in the microwave.

Hot tip: Green Giant > Birdseye's when it comes to frozen veggies and bang for your buck.

Great work - on Reta myself, 13 weeks in, now at 6MG per week. Did you go up to max dose? Also, any idea what a maintenance dose once at GW would be?
Yup, max dose. No idea on maintenance dose, but I'm getting close to it so I'll report back one I figure out what works / doesn't work for me.

Basically. I was on a ton of meds bc I have a couple rare and annoying chronic conditions + then had an emergency intussusception surgery this year, so I have been erring on the side of caution. Half were self paid but cheap.

Honestly, I should be thanking oyster for subconsciously pushing me to be way more careful based on his recklessness.

Damn! I'm glad your doing so well after going through that.

some good has come of my threads then. don't worry about me. i'm getting a very firm stomach and hope to see abs if the weight loss continues. i'm not seeing any more blood in urine and kidney function has stabilized in the normal range.

i really wish we could see before/after picts of people. i think i will eventually. my frame and muscle comp is such that 180# would probably be my equivalent weight even though we are the same height.

i have a couple of Quest labs close and will start doing testing on my own too. I haven't been on anything but Dutasteride for a month. Letting my body heal and reset.

I started GLP at the end of February, so it wasn't completely a New Years resolution.

Mid-40s 6 ft.
223 -->166.
VSG in 2011 so it was a little easier for me to lose again.
Maintenance: 10mg Tirz 1mg Cagri day 5. No real reason why I'm still taking so much Tirz other than I have too much of it and don't like to be wasteful. Likely switch to Cagri only when it's gone in 5 or 6 months.

Wore size 30x32 white jeans to a New Year party last night 🕺🕺🕺

This post isn't about you, you have your own, isn't enough? Stop bragging 😂
