paypal just took me for $400

Others have stated this but just making sure its super clear for everyone.

Whatever you use to buy crypto (Paypal, CashApp, Coinbase)... You MUST send that crypto to a seperate wallet (exodus is a popular one) that you control before sending it to a vendor. Otherwise your account WILL eventually get flagged and locked.

It concerns me the amount of people who are unaware the bbb is a private company with absolutely no power over anything
It's just an option. Just a small stone to throw. Bad reviews don't really do too terribly much either but... 👀
I fucked up. Period. I don't think there's really anything else I could do to fuck it up more, so....👀

Does the Silk Road even exist anymore? I have no idea where to access safe MDMA for therapy. I even have a psychedelic-assisted therapist locally, but this seems to be the only “tool” elusive to access.
I think if you did some research on what your seeking in India, you'd probably have good luck.

Expensive lesson unfortunately. PayPal has been doing this as far as I can remember, even if you aren't buying/selling stuff thats gray/black. Lots of stuff can trip whatever bullshit set of processes they use to look for violations. They dont care and there isnt really an accessible legal pathway for regular folk to seek any sort of resolution.

You can try to appeal to their "customer service" but depending on how much your time is worth it might be cheaper to mentally write the money off cause you have potentially weeks and more likely months of arguing with them and you still likely will never see that money again.

I send crypto from my CashApp wallet. Is that also as risky as pay pal?
Yes. I can't use crypto because it's way too complicated for me here in NY. But I have read so much about all of it - trying to find workarounds that actually work - and everything I have read says: SEND YOUR CRYPTO TO YOUR OWN WALLET! Never send crypto directly to a CN vendor from your paypal wallet or CashApp wallet or a crypto exchange. Always put it in your own secure noncustodial wallet, like Exodus, first.

I think if you're not willing to read through the multiple crypto guides floating out there, which make it super clear that you should absolutely use your own wallet, then you have no business paying in crypto. I'm not willing to read or figure it out lol, so I don't use crypto. It sucks that you're out money, but there was a high likelihood of this happening by using paypal.
So here I thought paying a vendor with paypal would be the safer option (standard USD $ payment - non crypto) because in the event the vendor decides to scam you then you can open a dispute and get a refund?

Nope. It is the rare vendor who would allow you to do PP/G&S. So far, I have used it only once with one vendor. No, I won't reveal the name, I don't want that option to disappear. If vendors allow PP at all, it's always F/F and you shouldn't opt in for buyer protection - red flags everywhere. You just have to choose your vendor wisely and hope it all works out. It has all worked out so far for me - no issues with being scammed - but use vendors that have been vetted, that lots of people use. No need to go find that one vendor no one has heard of.

The issue with bitcoin is once you send the coin amount; thats it if something goes wrong with the vendor you cant even dispute the transaction. Your is gone!

There are at least two vendors which allow PP G&S, but both of them lost a different item on PayPal invoice. So the chargeback feature doesn't really help. But both vendors delivered as promised.

Your only protection here is the community. Don't be one of the first 1000 people to buy from a vendor and your risk of getting outright scammed are almost zero.

Even if they listed peptides instead of, uh, cat litter, I'm not sure disputing it would be a safe thing to do for your paypal account. They're not controlled substances but I'm not sure that buying research chemicals from China is allowed in the paypal AUP, heh.

Be nice... 😬

Also, I just want to take time to say:

☢️ SRY IS RADIOACTIVE ☢️
NO ONE SHOULD BUY FROM THEM

You have a particularly bad experience or picked up general negative vibes? (some of which I've already read)

Their prices are certainly tempting...

Considering they are currently indicted by the US Justice Department for narcotics trafficking.... Just me personally, I wouldn't want to order from a vendor that has a target on their back courtesy of the US Government.

Hopefully not free surprise opioids in vials. It's one thing to inject reta instead of tirz. Injecting a mislabeled synthetic opioid is completely different risk.

Well there's the rogue SRY employees that spun off their own company and stole people's money in the process. Who knows when that'll happen again?
Plus the whole US Justice Department thing, which is pretty fucked. then add in the weird home shopping network giveaway thing. Also I've seen multiple people's payment app accounts being nuked due to being linked to them because they sent from their exchange wallet (always use a self custodial wallet to send crypto to grey/black market).

You're in a thread about someone paying them and having their account locked. What the hell more do you need? Low prices aren't worth it.

Or go ahead. Let us know how it goes.

Thank you for the info - there's a lot of complaining noise on here around a few vendors, so it's sometimes difficult to determine if people just had problems like slow delivery, bad comms, or got completely fucked by a particular vendor.

(Also the OP just seems to have done it wrong by not putting an abstraction between Paypal and the vendor.)
