So, I was reading through the Hospira BAC water availability thread, and that’s when I first heard about PepPens. Do any of you use them? If so, I’d love to hear your reviews.

I have 3 but haven’t set one up yet. Hear great things. I don’t think it’s worth using for a weekly injection, but something daily or twice a day is my plan.

Finally got around to setting my first one up today.

I did multiple tests on a cartridge I was going to throw away to see the best way for me to do this.
I also used plain water to fill test cartridge to 3ml (300 units) then did 5 "shots" with dial at 60 into bowl to verify that it would total 5 x 60units=3ml (300units)
Spoiler....It did! 😋

My Procedure...Your Milage May Vary 👍
  • Added 100 units of BAC to vial to disolve peptide.
  • Didn't want to poke a breather needle in the side of cartridge like he shows on website.
  • Didn't want to draw air out of the cartridge first because that will draw the plunger rubber up the cartridge exposing the inner tube to outside contamination.
  • Put my thumb at end of cartridge under plunger so it wouldn't be pushed out.
  • Injected the 100 units of peptide from vial.
  • Allowed the injection plunger to push back up to equalize pressure in the cartridge.
  • Needed to repeat this a couple more times because I needed a total of 250 units of BAC and the largest syringes I have is 1ml (100 units).
  • Inserted cartridge in pen and installed needle on end
  • Expelled air as shown in video
  • Did first injection with no issues and removed needle and stored pen 🙂

Extra notes:
Only day one but... I am very happy with how well it worked for me. Will see how it holds up over time.

I will probably order some 3ml syringes for creating these cartridges so I only have to pierce the cartridge once no matter how much BAC I need to add. As I think about this if I inject all at once I will have to use some sort of vent needle as he showed in video...will have to experiment when I get larger syringes.
Need to do more reading but...May look at a low cost ultraviolet light to place cartridge under before filling to insure it is sterile.

Do you know had you dialed 70 units in the last shot when the cartridge had only 60 left, would it have stopped at 10 or have gone all the way to 0?

I went ahead and bought 1 & a "kit". Came quickly. I'm pretty excited to try it out. Reminds me of the Oz pen you can dial in.
My s20 from Amopure was just delivered yesterday so, 🤞

Yes dial stopped. The plunger bottoms out in the cartridge as it pushes the last of the liquid out...
Then you would have to look at the dial and see how much of the dose you still need to inject...
After replacing cartridge and purging air...set dial back to the dose level you still needed to give and do the rest of the dose.
Example...You are giving a 35 unit injection and the plunger stops/runs out with 13 units left...
Replace cartridge and purge air...Set dial to 13 and inject.

Extra Note:
I should also point out...at least with mine.
If I try to run the pen for testing with no cartridge installed I can dial a number and push it over and over but the plunger will not push forward. I have NOT had it not move the plunger when a cartridge is installed. So I believe there must be some kind of mechanical engagement that is engaged when you insert the cartridge and screw it back together.

Both Peppens and EZSupply have V1 and V2 models and neither one describes the difference, at least not that I can decipher.

Peppen V1: 3ML Cartridge compatible, up to 60 Unit/ml dosing. Pen cap.
Peppen V2: A Peptide Pen that supports up to 60 unit injections and utilizes the standard 3 ML Pen Cartridge

Which do you'all have? Is it just a cosmetic change?

The ResearchROI starter pack looks good but they are sold out of additional pens.

Thought I would post a few links to videos on working with the PepPen style Injectors in case anyone needs them for a future reference. I think most of these pens with the disposable cartridges are all pretty much identical from china so it should be the same for most if not all of them.
Have seen other videos that even use needle filters on the venting and filling syringes but this seems like overkill to me if we are using good lyophilized peptides, good BAC water, new sterile needles, good sterile cartridges and cleaning all the tops on everything with alcohol pads.

ResearchRoi Videos

PepPen Video 1

PepPen Video 2

Reddit Link with step instructions instead...but I think the videos make it easier to understand.

Thank you for the v1 v2 model explanation, very helpful! I loved my ResearchRoi until my questions about leakage went unanswered & then I doubted them. The pen keeps dribbling until I remove the needle and remove the cartridge. I have since read elsewhere that it is a not an uncommon occurrence for pens. I wish they had answered my questions, I reached out 2x. I was not expecting a refund or dissing their product, I am new this. Hey, just tell me your pen is not malfunctioning.

I know I have read that you should always remove the needle after injecting otherwise it can leak.
Was it also leaking out the back side around the plunger?

No it just kept dribbling from the needle. I don't store the pen in the refrigerator, just the cartridge so I was trying to quickly unscrew the needle & cartridge to diminish loss. Now that I know it is normal it won't be a concern and will unscrew the needle first. Thanks!

Your removing the cartridge from the pen after every dose?

Yes I unscrew it & store the cartridges in the cartridge holder, covered in the refrigerator. I have 1 pen & 2 cartridges Tz & glow.

Hopefully Peppens or one of the others will run a sale for you soon...I got mine from them for $15 + shipping when on sale. Maybe cheaper on aliexpress but haven't checked lately.

Welcome to the forum.
If you are looking at promoting your products on here you may need to register as a Vendor with @ZippityDooDah not sure since it's not peptides. You may what to ask.

Really glad you posted and cleared this up as far as the Versions...I had not been able to figure it out... 🙂

Checked out your website and looks really nice.

Got any sales coming up to help @Heidi1953 out? 😉

So if I understand correctly the bayonet style cartridge chamber on V1 means you push the cartridge chamber on and do a quarter twist?...while V2 (the ones I have) the chamber threads on?

But both use the exact same 3ml cartridges and same needles?

Maybe we can talk @OconeeDawg into renaming the thread PepPens / EZPSupply 🙂 😉

If anyone is still looking for Pens.
I just saw that Peppens.com is running them for $15 again right now 👍

Edit:
It also looks like they have sterilized cartridges back in stock

Damn. I was looking at PepPens earlier and they were full price. Ended up going with a Lilly Ergo 2 off AlieExpress for $12 instead. Damn.

It's been my experience that ONE pen is NEVER enough!

Also because I don't know the answer and am hoping you or some of the more experienced members do...Does the Lilly Ergo 2 take the standard cartridges we see being sold all the time?

From what I've gathered, yes. They seem to take the standard 3ml cartridge that other pens take. Seeing the costs including shipping, I probably would have gone with the Ergo 2 regardless. Haven't gathered anything to say that the other pens are worth that much more.

Yes. I ordered the Lilly Ergo 2 and a 10 pack of cartridges from Alibaba. They did include some instructions that were written in English but I was familiar with how it works. As for the cartridges they were bubble wrapped very nicely and no damage.
Just for peace of mind I did sterilize the cartridges in an old pressure cooker with a 15lb weight. The indicator tape did change and I feel safe using them.
Total $15.40 and took 2 weeks to arrive. No complaints.
Long story short- yes the cartridges fit !

The Ergo 2 and 10 cartridges from Aliexpress came out to $13.50 for me. The PepPens look nicer, but the pen by itself, on sale, would be $22 shipped.

Pen: $12.00
Cartridges (10): $1.50
Needles (100): $10.10
3ml Luer Lock Syringe (30): $7.10
Filter (10): $21

Not that bad all together. I was already looking at having to buy new syringes/needles as I don't have any and would have needed them in addition to the 3ml syringes I'll use during reconstitution. I would have had to buy 3ml sterile vials instead if I was using syringes rather than pen. Really came out pretty even price wise.

When I was starting to look for Pens I was looking at ALL the cartridges and Pens on AliExpress/Alibaba and felt overwelmed and afraid I was going to get stuff that wouldn't all work together and wasn't sure I wanted to deal with trying to sterilize the carts myself to start...so I chickened out when I saw a previouse sale from Peppens. 🤣
