Sooo, I have this game I play with my scale. Because I noticed one time that if I stand a certain way, and hold myself at a certain angle, the scale will give me a little reward. Because I now have set this standard, I am 1 lb. away from a nice milestone and doing gymnastics on the stupid thing.
Nope, still not there... but wait... I have to pee... That'll do it for sure... so I pee... then... gymnastics... annnnnd nope... 🤣

I've done some scale gymnastics but I've also included the "weight breath" where I try to exhale as much as possible before checking hoping it'll knock off an extra ounce. The mental game gymnastics I do ... you'd think they'd burn some more calories.

hehe, and only one good BM away too ! go check now !

And if the scale says it... It's gospel!!!

Which scale? I have two of them to absolutely drive myself crazy. One scale I weigh a different amount every time I step on in the morning. The other one is more reliable, but consistently puts me 1/2lb more than the other. But this morning 1/2lb less. So, that scale is gospel today.

Andddd the Doctor's office scales are EVIL🙂

OMG! The freaking scale in the Doctor’s office is truly EVIL 👹

My pcp recently left his practice and I switched to a new pcp in the same practice. The former pcp used to subtract 2-3 pounds from the scale weight for clothing, shoes, time of day, etc. New pcp doesn’t 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Jever notice someone that weighs half of what you weigh will say, " don't go by just the scale."

Lol me too! Scales side by side!!!! 😅🤣😂

I got one of the Renfo Body scales. Does anyone else have one of these? How does is accurately detect all these stats like visceral body fat, and all the rest, with 4 sensors? I'm not putting a lot of stock in this info yet. I'm down 42 lbs as of this morning and have my checkup next week when I'm sure the Doctor's scale will show 38!

I had to look that one up.
For a bit, I thought it used body measurements combined with weight, but some descriptions say it checks four things. Huh? It would be nice to have the blutooth. Then I'd have to get a blutooth BP cuff. I know they make them. I got an EKG doodads a month ago. Everything says I'm not dead! 👍

You would think it would use body measurements, or something else additional, but it's just the 4 sensors on the scale that you stand on to get the reading. It's pretty cool, but how accurate is it, is the question?

I wouldn’t put a whole lot of stock into it, but I bet it will at least help quantify changes over time for you. People get too up in arms over the accuracy of the findings when it’s really the trend and conglomerate of data points that tell the real story.

I’ve been on the Garmin platform for quite some time. The data accumulated from the watch and scale over time is very valuable. I’ve had days where I know the scale is going to piss me off so I’ll skip weighing in the morning those days, but other times I force myself to stand up and face the music and often those outlier days can help understand how you will react the next time.

but how accurate is it, is the question?
Someone posted their Renpho next to their Dexa scan results and it was surprisingly accurate. He was using the 6-point one with the hand-held part too. I have one that’s about 4 years old and even if the numbers aren’t 100% accurate, the trends are what really matter. But I’m a nerd, so I love ALL the data and statistics.

I had one and it glitched twice, losing all of my data. 😡 and it adds in the weights of others using the scale sometimes. urgg so I replaced it with an Arboleaf.

Good to know! The trends are positive on weight, I just didn't know whether to believe any of the other info.

I snapshot it every week. That would be a bummer.

You enter data on the app, like height, sex, and age etc.. it bases calculations using those too
