Got the idea from member @EchoPale , who mentioned weighing in stone and kilograms. I am a product of public schools and really only understand pounds in a way that is real to me, though I do use grams for cooking and making soap and such.

I tend to "stick" at 5's and 0's on the scale in pounds. It's purely psychological; I identify those as milestone weights, and I get all hyped up to break down to the next 5 set, and then end up bouncing up and down on it and making myself crazy, AND self sabotaging by eating a little too much to easily break the next set. This happened at 170, 165, 160, 155, etc.

I switched my scale to kg at 66.5 kg. I am now 65.2kg. I have no idea what that is in pounds, and I will thank you not to tell me. I am no longer driving myself crazy with certain numbers in mind, because none of these numbers mean anything to me except that I know my goal is 56.7 kg (125 lbs, which would put me smack in the middle of healthy BMI.)

Really glad to hear the swap around has helped you 😁 it did the same sort of thing for me as both pounds alone and Kilo have never been people weighing measures in my head.
I am so glad you mentioned it. It was such a simple little swap that took so much of the stress out for me.

I celebrate every single lb as a milestone🙂 and at my current rate, it's a good amount of time between celebrations😉
