the entire section seems to be in regard to people getting here and starting threads and such or jumping into random threads and asking for sources.
i haven't been here oodles of time but not brand new, and while i'm not the most prolific poster i have engaged in the community without doing any of the things outlined in the 3.5 months i've been here. my post in this thread was to ask for clarification on an ongoing discussion about a seller, specifically someone mentioned a seller and linked a jano report on which the website of the seller is listed where single vials are on offer. the response that this seller doesn't sell singles is even more confusing.
i understand the intent of the rules is largely so stop spam and manipulation, as well as to stop people joining and peppering the forum with source requests. i don't believe i or my question here fits either of those. i'm guessing you disagree.
I'm not sure that I can make this any clearer, but I'm going to try because apparently my limitations due to being bilingual are creating an endless reading comprehension problem.
The user level displayed under your forum name is "
GLP-1 Novice", and carries the recent additional badge of "No Source Discussion" to further clarify things and remove confusion (yet, here I am...).
The information on the new member page clearly states that new members are prohibited from discussing sources until reaching the "
GLP-1 Apprentice" user level.
In hierarchical orders, Novice is BELOW Apprentice; now combined with the additional "No Source Discussion" badge for anyone who might not be familiar with hierarchical titles.
How long someone has been a member is only one of about six metrics by which members advance up the user level ladder.
It doesn't matter if someone joined on August 1, 2023; if they haven't participated meaningfully in enough discussions, received enough "likes", viewed enough threads, avoided violating forum rules (like the no source discussion rule), etc. then
they are no different than someone who joined yesterday.
For the vast majority of active members, the time it takes to reach "GLP-1 Apprentice" averages around 3 to 4 weeks. Everyone's time eventually comes.
Ironically, it's the impatient people complaining about not being able to discuss sources who invariably take longer.
There are over 36,000 members of this forum. While you and some others may believe you have attained sufficient knowledge, experience, and reputation to move up to the next user level,
the rules were created to treat everyone equally because we don't have the time nor resources to individually analyze the merits of every single member to make that determination. We rely on the integrated automations to do it based on an established set of parameters (no, I'm not going to tell anyone what they are) which have been finely-tuned over the past two and a half years.
Ultimately, it comes down to the "respect is earned, not given" maxim. Respecting the rules is an important aspect of keeping the forum civil and meaningful, and those who do earn respect in return and become positive members of our forum community. The saddest irony is, I fucking hate rules and I hate that we even have to have any here. If the world wasn't full of so many shitty humans, I would be happy just to let things roll on however they may. Unfortunately, reality is a harsh punch in the balls, so here we are.
I don't even know what you have been trying to discuss in this thread, and—frankly—I don't care. The rules are the rules and apply to everyone equally. Other helpful members have pointed out your "No Source Discussion" badge. Instead of questioning it, if you had taken a little time to pause, reflect, research and read up via the countless previous threads and posts here to understand how it all works, you probably would have already reached the Apprentice level by now.
