Well, fuck peptide test

You can see everyone's info, or everyone's email?

Email, but a lot of people use their names.
I just wanted to clarify if this was another 'we gave a stranger your name and address' situation. Email is still bad; you can get a lot of information on someone from their email.

They just sent out an email and cc’d their entire customer list, so now everyone can see everyone’s info.
I got a bcc, fwiw. And I have a burner email too, just in case.

Can you tell us what kind of an email it was? Was it addressed to a specific person about a specific thing? Or was it a group email ... ?

How do they have a monopoly on filters?
they had like a whole 300 individual 4mm .22 filters and everyone acts like there was some massive conspiracy to corner the market. I'm sure he's made 100s of dollars on them.

To me it seemed like he started selling some individual ones after a conversation a handful of people were having on discord, so that people didn't have to spend a ton of money to buy them in bulk, but what do i know.

315 emails exposed. I redacted the first one in this screenshot.

The pep community thrives on drama...

I don't know that it's nearly as significant as some of the other stuff happening right now, but that's not quite the story. They have an exclusive contract on the 4mm so you can't buy them from the source now, and they were making promotional content about how the 4mm were superior to the 13mm because you'd lose more Peptide with the 13mm.

Again, not that bad in the grand scheme of things for Peptide drama. I think what really got people upset was the way he yelled at people who were upset about it.

Well, the 4mm were already impossible to get from the beginning if I remember. I remember back and forth about the 4mm/13mm, but I don't remember him yelling at people lol. but I wasn't paying terribly close attention to be honest. I can't imagine there being a lot to gain from cornering the market on such an obscure item though. He'd have done a lot better pushing the sterility testing rather than a $1.50 item that was perceived to make it irrelevant.

Ahhh, got it. He has his fave filters, the 4mm Tisch and considers others generic.

I had a brief exchange with him wherein he acknowledged that different filters from different manufacturers have different “hold back” amounts. That means that my generic Cobetter 13mm don’t necessarily hold back as much as Tisch 13mm.

But maaaannn, some weird ass m-fer on Reddit could not get that through his little pea brain. He was stuck on stupid, I had to just leave him be.

Surely they have more than 300 customers though? I say this because I’ve been checking my email compulsively all week for anything from them, waiting for some COAs and I’m a little said that I 1. Haven’t gotten results yet and 2. Didn’t get this email either apparently. Aren’t I enough? 😭 /s

Nope!

He has an exclusive contract with Tisch scientific to sell 4mm filters. No one else is legally allowed to sell them. This was proven on Peppys, receipts were shown. The thread isn't hard to find.

And 4mm filters are damn near impossible to find. A few months ago, I started the thread below:

See posts from Dustycotton for Tisch 4mm filters direct from the manufacturer. This was literally the ONLY place to buy them anyone in the community knew of. And the link now goes dead.

And this also is a major conflict of interest with his filtering impact studies. His conclusions funnel the community into a product that is near impossible to find That he sells. Furthermore his conclusions from that study have been refuted. Many have reported much lower losses from 13mm filters.

The amount of money he is making off them is irrelevant. Someone in a scientific lab needs to be be objective and free from commercial influences. The whole episode should at least give people pause on that front. Alot of people are justifiably concerned with his actions, and I think it is wildly unfair to dismiss these concerns as drama stirring.

The only reason I can shrug it off is I could see he only tested one brand of filter, so those results were for those filters. As I looked at other filters, their numbers were different, so asked him on Reddit and he said yea, the numbers aren’t going to be the same across the board.

Sure, he added something like, why buy generic? but I buy generic bc I’m just a poor girl from the dusty flatlands of America. 🇺🇸 (cue swell of god bless America)

My gripe is that they use this “we are here because we want to help the community” marketing bullshit and then make moves like that that actually limit access to filters by setting up a de facto monopoly. If they want to be dickish business guys then they shouldn’t masquerade as community servants.

He's also said the Cobetter filters are prone to bursting. I'll dig it up in a bit.

I have the Cobetters as well and I've tested the limits. They are quite durable, and the membrane holds up really well. I don’t buy it.

I think I remember reading that. I’m sure I could make any filter burst under the right amount of pressure. I did it on purpose a couple of times so I could see/feel/hear what that was like. I learned that as long as I pre-wet my filter, everything flows smoothly.

And I didn't like that he was promoting product he had exclusive rights to as the best option without telling us he might have other reasons for making that claim.

Yes!

This stuff makes it hard to differentiate between the sound scientific conclusions and the sales pitches. Once that line has been blurred, trust is compromised. And trust is absolutely critical for a lab. Much more so than a vendor.

Yea you can. A basic open source information search is all it takes.

This whole community is full of mfers shilling their 3d printed shitboxes and flipping garbage for $0.23 profit. I don't know what the deal is honestly.
23 cents?

I heard ER holds daily raffles and gets somewhere around 150 dollars per printed box.

I didn't get an email from Peptide Test (I have had vials tested and bought filters from them). So maybe not their entire customer base.

These are the same people with those huge live love and laugh stickers on their walls. I don't need that bullsh*t cult crap.
I do t get how it can even be profitable to sell something that needs 20 hours of machine time to 3d print for $30

I used to sell peptide boxes so can speak to this. The margins were very good and demand was enormous. That may have changed since for most of that time there were only two of us doing it and we mostly tried not to make identical stuff. Demand dramatically exceeded my capacity to meet it; I probably could have charged significantly more than what I already considered too expensive.

I stopped doing it mainly because the writing was on the wall with a ton of people all starting to sell the boxes, and it took more of my time to manage the sales and do the work than you’d think. But if you don’t have a good paying job you can certainly make more selling peptide boxes and running group buys than driving for uber or something. That is unless all the new box makers have eaten each other and driven down the prices a ton, I haven’t really tracked the market.

It's noteworthy that this mass email was from their marketing activities, not from the day-to-day operations. Like wtf are these sleazy assholes constantly marketing for? Just be a lab and stop with the used car sales crap. There is no reason for a lab to be mass emailing anybody. Trustpointe really needs to just break free from peptest (the marketing guy who locked them into an exclusive contract just like he did with the filter wholesaler) and let the work stand on its own.

But they're cheaper than jano! What's a little privacy violation? Pff

Are they? Shipping to them is cheaper since it’s domestic but I thought they priced about the same as Jano, which is BS for a new lab with a questionable record. Other domestic labs cost less, where peptest’s marketing guy was “positioning as a premium option” or something but without the actual record to back it up.

🤷‍♀️ I might be thinking of the vanguard debacle. It was sarcastic, anyway. Could have sworn I saw someone saying they saved like $50 using them over jano- might have been because of shipping price.

Yeah shipping to Jano is really expensive.
