I didn't have much luck on Mounjaro before - I got up to 7.5mg with only minimal weight loss. I am not a snacker really either, so I don't think I eat a ton. Probably just some metabolic damage from years of being heavy and trying to diet.

Did anyone else have trouble on Mounjaro and eventually have success on reta? I've been getting 10,000 steps a day, going to the gym a few times a week, and trying hard to limit my meals, which isn't that difficult since I finish half my plate and feel like I can't have any more. But I've only last about 3 lbs in my first month, and have started ramping up a bit more aggressively. I had a friend staying with me last month and he was on Mounjaro (his second month) and was down about 15 lbs. We ate pretty much the same meals for a month.

If anyone has been in a similar situation, where low doses didn't do much for them but higher doses did, I'd love to hear it. Thanks.

Remember that Muscle is denser and weighs more than fat, so if you're at the gym building muscle; the weight may stay the same for awhile until it raises you BMR higher and you'll drop more quickly. Other people have said it took 4 wks to see the downward progress. Do your clothes fit the same?

I just had a DEXA scan done, and I have more than an age-appropriate amount of muscle for my height. So I shouldn't really have a problem with a low RMR, at least not based on a muscle mass. I hope it'll pick up, because it's pretty discouraging, especially when you see a friend drop 15 lbs while still chugging the odd beer and the scale is hardly moving for me.

Reta has been very slow for me! I didn't have any weight loss until I got to around 8 mg ( my current dose.) I have lost 17 lbs now. From what I've read, if you've done other weight loss peptides, then it doesn't work until higher doses. Personally I don't have much weight to lose ( max 20 lbs) so I expect that's not helping! Always harder to lose the last bit! I'd say to trust the process, follow the titration schedule and hope it works when you find your sweet spot.

Thanks. I've been going up pretty quick simply because I haven't seen any weight loss yet. I also haven't had any real side effects, certainly none that were worse than tirz. I'm on about 5mg/week now but will start ramping up to 7mg to 8mg I think and see if it picks up.

Did anything change when you got to 8mg? Did the scale just start moving down on its own, or do you think you actively ate a lot less? I don't feel like I'm eating lots, and lots of times for dinner will just have something small. So I honestly don't think I could eat much less without being in danger of eating too little. So I'm hoping the glucagon part kicks in and starts helping even with the current amount of food. What was your experience ramping up and when it finally started working for you?
