Hi all,

I'm currently on a 6-day rotation for Reta and it has been working great. My spouse is taking 2.5mg of Tirz on a 7-day schedule and towards the end she starts to get hungry and I am wondering if it makes sense to go to a 6-day rotation? Right now, she's losing weight slowly and is OK with it so she's hesitant to bump up to 5mg and just wants to avoid the food noise at the end of the rotation.

Thanks

I'm currently taking Tirz 3.5mg every five days and I'm satisfied. By the sixth or seventh day, the hunger and food noise I experienced have significantly decreased.

6 days is fine, some people even do 5. Or split the dose every 3.5 days. I do that and im never really hungry

Doc explained it thusly. It takes a few days for tirz to achieve maximum function for the dose. Then at five days it's half as effective as at maximum. The unknown factor is how long it takes to ramp up. But with experimentation they designed the dose for weekly for most. (not all, obviously) Just like they designed the dosage to be 2.5 to 15mg in the same .5ml dilution.
I try to last a week, but I prefer to give myself a bump day 4 or 5, with 3 or 4mg dose. Mind you, I'm at 12.5mg.
Because I had a lengthy stall I asked about a 5 day instead of 7 day regimen. My concern was a "loading" factor to which he explained away. (see above)
