Alright, let’s talk poop

For the Mag07 users, would it be a good idea to take it as a proactive measure even if you aren't fully backed up? Or only use as needed?

The struggle is becoming real.

For first time in my life, I’m consistently inconsistent.

Trying to increase water and fiber intake, but not the best at that.

What are y’all finding success with? Miralax? Fiber pills?

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
RS has Severe constipation due to weight loss and tirz. Tried everything but RS went back to miralax but to actually work have to take a double dose.

That's the last thing you want to do with a laxative. With laxatives, there is a danger that you'll only be able to go to the bathroom with them if you use them too much.

Don't go up in dose quickly. My first few months I was constipated. After five months on tirzepatide, constipation is not an issue. I currently take 5 mg. I know some folks advocate for Metamucil. For me, Metamucil didn't help me. Miralax did. I only used Miralaxwhen the constipation got bad. Another popular choice, prunes, also did nothing for me. I do regularly use fiber gummi bears. I started taking probiotic capsules when constipation was bad. Although my constipation is now gone, I don't know whether the probiotic capsules helped or not.

I like Mag07. That seems to help get things moving. Also lots of water and a good electrolyte powder to mix in. I use micro ingredients.

I like to use it once or twice a week. Normally the night before an off day that I don't plan on being out and about. I don't like to poo but the mag07 poos are very nice!

I take 1 nightly. Directions say 3 when you need to or to do a full cleanse.

Reta has cured my Tirz constipation. Now I have the polar opposite problem. Trying to decide if it's a deal breaker as it's disturbing my sleep and causing anxiety at work. Or maybe I have a lengthy bout of food poisoning? 1.5mg Reta stack with 8mg Tirz.

I just did a search of this board and found that no one has mentioned Acacia senegal powder. My go to brand is Micro Ingredients, and I've also used Heather's to great effect.

This is one of those things where you'll need to find your own personal dosage through trial and error. For me, I've settled on one 13 gram dose in the morning. And, if things are moving slowly, I'll throw in one magnesium oxide capsule with breakfast and dinner 🐳

You're not alone in this struggle! I've been increasing my water and fiber intake. I carry a huge water bottle with me all the time.

My meals consist of a costco rotisserie chicken breast and 3 cups of raw broccoli. It takes me 20 minutes to eat as I have very little appetite but I'm able to eat what my body needs as long I can convince myself it does. If I can't choke down enough raw broc, I add some psyllium husk that night.

I find this particular, very specific meal provides enough fat and fiber that I'm not crappin' gravel the next day.

Adding in lifting and cardio every week can dry me up, but taking supplements like calcium, iron, b-complex multivitamin w/electrolytes, and doing a decent job keeping up on sugar-free gatorade and water has prevented even a single clogged chute since I started almost 2 months ago.

I take cherry Dulcolax before bed and it works as soon as I wake up in the morning. I like that it doesnt cause cramping like some laxatives and it never disappoints.

I usually take a capful of miralax thorough the week. And I swear by Natures Secret “the Weekend cleanse” sold at Walmart or online. It not like a stimulant and it moves things so nice.

I'm glad this poop thread got bumped because I've just had the single worst day - started with Tirz constipation so bad I took a Dulcolax at 4am, and at some point the 0.3mg Reta micro-dose I tried to stack mid-week kicked in and I finished the day with 8 trips to the bathroom with diarrhea between 9p and 5a. OMG. I need to buy stock in Charmin ultra-soft.

All that to say the cure for Tirz constipation is a tiny bit of Reta, in my world...

Wow I might just start micro dosing Reta for this alone! lol

This is for women, support your perineum if you’re having a constipation movement. Trust me. Just put some TP on your hand and hold the perineum down and toward rectum so it doesn’t bulge. I already have a mild prolapse and it’s worsened w constipation. If I had known to do this suppirt move, also called “splinting,” I might have been able to avoid it!
I had a total bowel/colon resection in 2022 because of this exact thing. Prolapse caused by chronic constipation. Nothing has been right since the prolapse and subsequent surgery.

I buy magnesium citrate powder from Amazon and sprinkle it over everything I eat. it's the cheapest option that I found. I read that taking too much magnesium could be unhealthy so I decreased my dosage, causing a hemorrhoid. It has been four months and it doesn't go away 🥲

Sometimes I read the reviews on Amazon for fun. It’s almost become a competition amongst people on there to write the funniest story. The heavy laughter is good ab workout.
Same. Some of those are so funny. Read the Veet hair remover reviews?

I eat 510 grams of blackberries/raspberries and 450g of potatoes including skin daily. That combined with one or two servings of Metamucil and I get over 40g of fiber. Before that even on only 2g of reta I couldn't poop. Fiber is king and berries taste great and are filling by themselves. I also drink over a gallon of water to push all that fiber through.
