Any 50 YO men experience hair growth with anything?

I know that being on TRT has caused some thinning of my hair. I’ve read that GHK-CU can help make it thicker, so I decided to give it a shot. I’m about three weeks in and haven’t seen any results yet, but I’m not rushing it. This isn’t a drag race for me.

Dr Wallach, the nutrition quack, has been saying for more than 20 years that the main problem with hair loss is the major lack of copper in our diet. Now I find out GHK-CU is the solution to a lot of skin problems and you might also look into AHK-CU that's supposed to target hair issues.

I've actually studied this quite bit (went bald at 45, ya know)....The idea that most male hair loss is directly driven by testosterone is a common misconception. Male pattern baldness the most prevalent form of hair loss in men, is primarily caused by dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a potent derivative of testosterone, and genetic sensitivity to DHT. DHT is the key player: Testosterone itself does not directly cause hair loss.

Testosterone levels are not the main factor: Men with high testosterone can have full heads of hair if they lack sensitivity, while men with low testosterone can still experience significant hair loss due to genetic predisposition. But also it seems that TRT can accelerate hair loss in genetically susceptible individuals by increasing DHT levels.

There's a lot more to it but basically, it's not testosterone levels that drive hair loss, but rather genetic sensitivity to DHT—a metabolite of testosterone. Therefore, most male hair loss is not testosterone-driven, but DHT- and genetics-driven.

I hope this info helps someone.

I don't know, I'm over 50 and I think GHK-Cu (subQ and topical) has helped some skin wrinkles, and maybe my hair is a bit more lustrous (or the haircut is better), but the only hairs that came back were the ones I didn't want and thought I'd gotten rid of! I didn't need the bumper crop of ear and nose hair.

On my hair serum for 1 month: minox/finest topical , ghk-cu, PTD-DPM,
Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 topicals and oral finesteride.

Nothing major. I do seem to have a little peach fuzz that I have never noticed coming in. Seen more when I have a light shining from the back and looking in a mirror. That’s kind of cool. I should mention that I’m micro needling 3 times a week with a derm roller prior to placing the topicals and as mentioned in a previous post I’m adding in a few doses a week of topical retin cream to increase some inflammation for better absorption of the topicals.

I’ll repost in a month or two! Hoping for a little coverage on the chrome dome for the summer! Haha🤪

You have to be very careful with DHT blockers. Most times it's not worth it. ymmv of course.
There is significant question as to whether or not PFS even exists or if it is all psychosomatic.

1.Oral finesteride 1mg daily
2. Apply retinol cream or gel to the scalp 1 hour before the topical solutions . The irritation helps the solutions to penetrate the dermis or use a needling device or needle roller. You can use cream and roller for the most penetration of the following solutions .
3.Topical minoxidil with topical finesteride
(You can get from HIMS or from AllDayChemist)
4. GHK-Cu peptide topically
5. PTD-DPM peptide topically alone or mixed with the following two peptides….
6. Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 topically
7. Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 topically

Is that all altogether? or separate and in any sort of order?

I take Finesteride to shrink my prostate, but I have noticed some sprouts growing from my bald spot. Nothing extreme, but they are there.

Curious if anything works for any form of hair growth, head of course?
I've been taking oral Minoxidil + Finasteride for the last 3-4 months for male pattern baldness and the difference is remarkable. It's visibly thicker and more dense. Now when I touch my the top of my head, I feel thick hair instead of wispy nothingness before.

BUT...what's gone is gone. Receding hairline is same. Small bald spot is same. That is not going to grow back. Should have started Minoxidil + Finasteride 5+ years ago when I began TRT.

Also, I now have lustrous arm hair. Umm. OK, but wasn't looking for that. But it validates what I'm seeing on my head. Minoxidil works on the whole body. Don't freak out if you shed more than usual during the first month - this is normal.

2.5 mg Minoxidil should do the trick for most, but 5 mg is what I take. Remember that it's a failed blood pressure medication. Five mg is still far lower than what was used for hypertension, but know that it can have an effect. Finasteride has lowered my libido a bit but not enough to cause problems. If you're the type to crank everything to the max, then there's dutasteride, which will NUKE your DHT and has an insanely long half life. May be hold off on dutasteride until you know that finasteride does not do the trick for you.

Also, get your ferritin and protein on point.

The Minox/finesteride topical first. After it’s soaked in I do the peptide mixtures. I stopped the oral finesteride. Was giving me sexual side effects I didn’t like. Maybe I’ll try again some other day.

The lowest maintenance routine is finasteride + oral minoxidil. Topical is just very annoying because you have to apply it twice daily, it makes your hair greasy and you have to wait for it to penetrate before you can move on with your day. Go take a look at your hairline and compare it to the norwood scale that you can easily find online. Depending on your scale, finasteride and minoxidil can possibly regrow a part of your hairline. If you're too advanced it's unlikely that you are going to reverse the scale significantly and like someone said your best bet is to get a hair transplant and continue taking fin + min. Also don't listen to the finasteride is bad goblin, it really is fine.

Same, hoping for some results.
