CAT THREAD.

Layla and Freddie. She's headed for radioiodine treatment in the new year. He will make sure he completely annoys her until then and upon her return. 13 and 11.

Touchdown! Go Birds 🦅🏈
We have been through the Iodine131 treatment several times with different cats. The hardest part is when they get home and you can't be close for long because they are radio active. It worked well except one of the cats needed it twice. They were about the same age as yours. That procedure gave them many more happy years.

They are so sweet! Thank you for sharing the pics! I dont currently have my own kitty. But my friends do. Athena is one of five, that we kitty sit every year.
That counts! Kitties by nature often consider themselves members of multiple households. The stories where like 6 families claim them are hilarious.

I've found two things.
1.Fluffy, long haired cats seem to be natural cuddlers and lap cats.
2. Tuxedo cats, you know if you have one, always act like Mr. Mistopheleze in Catz.

I hate all things webbernetter and on the line. But, in a testament to how much I love cats, I've changed my profile from my second fave animal, a manatee, to my beloved Frank, may he rest in peace.

As you can clearly see, weight issues run in our family.

We just rescued a cat from animal shelter
I am a foster mom for our local shelter and always love to hear about an adoption day!! My girls and I counted up and since we started when one was in 9th grade and one in middle school, we have fostered between 100-150 kittens and/or mommas. When they get home from college, this week, we're going to go through all our pics and actually write down everyone, and note any special stories we can remember. We thought it'd be fun to really keep track. I definitely have way more pictures of foster kittens on my phone than my kids.😬😸

Gotcha day

Gotcha day for the grey tabby was exciting. We beat out another application, we believe because husband was 100% WFH and that Frosty would have an older sister.

He is still sometimes shell shocked a few years later. If there’s a new sound he looks for the nearest place to hide. But he doesn’t automatically dart, so it’s getting better.

He is a long boi and walks like a bulldog… he’s not going to accidentally surprise anyone. His legs are short-ish - not wiener cat short - but we wonder if his legs were broken at some point? He is long enough to reach up and get a paw around a lower cabinet handle. And he’s curious. Which makes him a little punk lol. He generally stays out. 🙂 Unless it’s the accordion door on the hall closet where he likes to sleep.

He will chew anything once, but sometimes only once. We had a soap bar with a single set of fang marks.

He’s the biggest baby, doesn’t want to be held right side up, but like a baby belly-up. And has the loudest purr. He’s doing well.

So cute. Mine is a long boi, too. He can reach all the way up and politley tap my arm when I’m sitting on a kitchen stool.

OMG, the tape measure!
He was a very handsome boy ❤️

Omg i love that ! <3 Thati's amazing !
This one, Lilly, she is 1 year 3 months, but already had kittens, and her family didn't want her. I can't believe people !
So now she is ours, she is so cute and trusting, still a bit stressed about everything and the move, but I can tell, she likes it here.
And my son loves her to bits, so do I.

EDIT: Ok, rule change, cause it turns out I don't have the courage of my convictions; you can post cat pictures even if you don't have a cat in your profile picture, and we will not shun you. Or do whatever you want, the power to shun corrupted me.

This is Luna (Lovegood, because she's sweet, but weird). She followed me home from the park when I was walking my dog one day, 4 years ago. Got her spayed and fixed up as much as possible, but she was a hot mess - starving, fleas, rotten teeth, FIV, ear infection, eye infection, and some feline disease that makes her blow snot rockets all the time, even to this day. She loves to be held, and will paw at your leg like a toddler saying, "up, up!" She's constantly getting herself locked in closets and cupboards, because she sneaks in there and hides during the 30 seconds I have the door open. She's very loveable, though.

Ni`ele is the princess/scaredy cat. She disappears any time there are guests in the house. She hangs around my feet and meows for me to pet her, but as soon as I bend down to do it, she runs away. However, when I'm sitting on the couch she'll come and demand my lap or a pillow to sit on so I can pet her.
