QSC is screwing around over a $135 credit!

Use the “search” function on this forum. Plenty of posts warning against using Alisa.
Not everyone reads these forums. Did it exist in 2022? So everytime I order from a vendor I'm suppose to check if another sales rep is the "correct" one?

The smart watch giveaway is starting to sound really good now. 🤦‍♂️

Thing is, who else knew that Alisa and Tracy operate independently? That's great if these types of issues don't happen with Tracy but how many people know that they should only deal with Tracy?
The people who spent time and effort looking into a vendor before buying... this is why we preach doing your research.

So everytime I order from a vendor I'm suppose to check if another sales rep is the "correct" one?
Yes.

Here's 4 all found within 30 seconds using the search function.

Probably more but I'm not digging more than that.

I see one post that only says Tracy can't help with Alisa's order.

Only in this post it has been clearly defined that Tracy and Alisa have nothing to do with each other. Which for one company is still very abnormal.

You are asking for trouble if you don't. Seriously be careful, there are lots of fake sales reps that claim to work for reputable companies. Alisa isn't a scamer, just the worse of the 2 known QSC reps. But anyone who skips this step WILL get scammed. It's a matter of when, not if.

Good God, actually read them! All the posts I linked warn about Alisa.

you're making a terrible mistake in trying to inject some logic into their business operation.. while you're not wrong, it just doesn't (have to) work in that logical way. you have to adjust... (no matter the vendor).. but more importantly, my advice is to simplify as much as you can - the simpler the transaction, the less chance of things going sideways.

You're right, I got complacent with a false sense of security from previous transactions.

I get what you're saying.

Still, those other posts say don't use Alisa but not that they operate independently but under the same company. That information is only really clarified in this post.

Why doesn't Tracy make a post in the vendor forum that says Don't deal when Alisa! She has nothing to do with me! She represents a QSC that I have absolutely no power to do anything with bad orders.

Do other companies' sales people need to do this as well? You're the one who assumed that Tracy would be able to fix your problems. I'm sorry, but when I have a problem with a sales rep, I don't go to a different sales rep from the same company for recourse.

I stay pretty quiet here, but this is just... special. You seem like an intelligent individual, but maybe you're letting your anger at the situation get the best of you? Take a deep breath. You're in the black market. Shit like this is gonna happen. Yeah, losing $135 sucks, I get it. But come on. What did you really expect? Some people have lost way more than that playing this game.

Can we talk about something else now?

I think the key difference here is that no one believed Tracy was "just another sales rep". If that were the case Tracy wouldn't have been added to this conversation by other people. Everyone was saying "just contact Tracy" as far back as the first page of this thread.

There was confusion about their role, probably because we're used to interacting with companies where there is a manager or person in authority you can escalate to. We're not used to sales reps becoming the public face of a company with no oversight.

I don't think Tracy is obligated to make clarifications on all of the forums he frequents, but I think we should stop beating up on @violetv. They're clearly in a bad situation and made incorrect assumptions, but so did a lot of us.

Also it's their thread so we can leave but I don't think we can force them to talk about something else.

That is all totally fair. I was definitely unkind, and I apologize. It's not my norm.

You might not, but this is a totally normal thing to do. If you are not able to get an escalation path through one sales rep, others very frequently will be able to point you in the right direction. I've had to do this many times over the decades as both a customer and in B2B transactions. Sales reps will frequently be happy to help you escalate and resolve the issue because they know it's a good chance to win your account over.

And, I mean, if you don't want to talk about it, you can always just not come into this thread. It's not like you're forced to participate in it :P

Yeah, as I said earlier, I was being a jerk and apologized. I'm not usually like that, and I definitely feel like an ass now. I generally try to be kind to everyone, but I sure wasn't in that moment. Thanks for your perspective, I needed some straightening out for sure. :)

To be fair this is very normal. I work in consulting and the times I worked at a bigger company if someone would email/call me about another coworkers problem I would delete/ignore all together. Not my pay grade not my problem. I think this is fairly typical at any midsized and larger company.

Also you don't know the entire story behind the issues with another coworkers client. The most tracy can do if he was being nice is forward your complaint to Alisa. Since you are her client/customer, he shouldn't respond to you at all.
