So there was a long discussion in a peptide testing discord server earlier tonight about TFA (Trifluoroacetic Acid) salts and how it's something we should avoid if possible and that acetate form is really what we should be targeting, however it's more expensive so chinese/research peptides likely don't do it.

Additionally, someone linked a Q&A with Janoshik where this topic was brought up and the answers at least to me felt inconclusive. Attached screenshot of the relevant part and the whole Q&A below (thanks B-Man). Also attached is a screenshot from a NLM article on "The Role of Counter-Ions in Peptides"

I was surprised to hear of all of this for the first time and then even more surprised to type "TFA" and "Acetate" into the search bar here and see nothing really come up about it. Wondering if folks smarter than me might be able to do more with this information and just hoping to see more discussion on this.

As an aside, I emailed my vendor (Amopure) and asked if they sell their tirz in the Acetate form or something else and their response was as follows:

"Greetings.

Thank you for your inquiry.

We don't have the acetate form of Tirz.

Thank you!"

The Jano doc

This doc as well as the screenshot from that doc need to be removed from your post as that doc belongs to another platform that prohibits reposting on other platforms.

Fight Club!

I'm the one that passed that document along to the OP.

I didn't get this doc from any "another platform that prohibits reposting on other platforms"

This gatekeeping "fight club" bullshit needs to stop.

Fight club my ass. I didn't pull this document off any forum.

@PopTart If a platform has rules against sharing their content outside of it then glp1forum will respect that and remove the content. Sounds like in this case that isn’t happening but dm me if you think it is and I’ll remove it after checking the site or with the site owner if it’s somewhere I’m not a member.

And no, keeping content exclusive the platform that made it is not bullshit. Their platform, their rules. If you disagree then it is well within your rights to make an open platform where you can make your own content and share everything with everyone all the time. I’ve been on both types of platform and can tell you that ones tends to generate better, more useful knowledge than the Dunning Kruger junk show you get in wide open communities like you see on facebook and reddit.

You can test for TFA at home, kinda, using PH tester or strips.

Here's a table with concentration to reconstitute for properly test + expected pH vs TFA content.

Note that this test is not very precise, as other things in the product can affect the pH, but it should give you an idea at least.

You should also offset the pH of your BAC water with the final result. Always start with neutral, pH 7. If the BAC is pH 5, that gives you a -2 offset that you need to take account in your final result.

It sounds like they disclaim any exclusivity expressed or implied.

I just get tired of this "cult"-like "Fight Club!" nonsense.

Fight club was a fucking movie. It was pretend. A movie based on a novel by Chuck Palahniuk. I actually really like the author.

Some quotes of his are something like "You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake. This is your life and it is ending one moment at a time". -CP

Agreed the fight club thing is kinda dumb but it succinctly expresses an idea that some people really struggle with on the socials — it’s better to keep some stuff to yourself from time to time for the good of the community.

It feels like cult members are trying to bully people on this forum with words like "Fight Club".

I'm not sure this Fight Club nonsense meets all the elements of a cult. But it certainly has the element of "System of control" that is pervasive among its members.

I didn't obtain that document from the forum I believe they are implying it as a source. It may have been from there originally. But their UI/UX sucks so bad I'm not willing to try to source it.

There is only one way to keep secrets that is effective. Chanting "Fight Club" ain't it.

Thank you for sharing this. Any test that helps shed light on the content of this stuff we are injecting that doesn't cost hundreds is extremely useful.

Is there any more background you can share, or a link?

Absolutely LOVE seeing someone else reference Dunning-Kruger because it really is so relevant in a lot of these communities 😂

The approach I used with the OP could have been handled in a friendlier manner and without flaming them with “fight club”. So my apologies.

I’m not in a cult but I am cautious about sharing content from Peppys, Roundtable, and PDTS without asking admin permission first. I just want to make sure that the sources we enjoy are not jeopardized.

No link, what other info do you want to know?

Another Pep Test member is querying Janoshik to see if their GC/MS Screening with NIST library would detect TFA.

Pep Test is gearing up to do endotoxin tests. Which I believe will test for things like "lipopolysaccharides" LPS.

I'm not an expert, or even a novice at this stuff. Just sharing what I know.

What risks? I'm not on two of the three places you mention but it's probably not difficult to infiltrate for anyone with a keyboard and an internet connection.

I'm just unclear what these risks are? Aside from the neo-political pressures and social hierarchy.

I've only seen negative effects and outcomes for controlling the dissemination of information. Never have I seen a positive outcome for any community when information is tightly managed an controlled. It sounds communist and cult-like to me.

Also, people in cults don't think or say "I'm in a cult". An unreasonable fear of the outside world and controlling information exchange are elements of a cult. At least from what I know. Just a few more elements that may or may not already exist and I'd say you might be in a cult.

There is a process with knowledge checks to joining the private servers and hence the fight club mentality. It’s not ask/join, you earn your way in with time and research.

Sounds more and more like a cult. From what you've said, I don't think the bogeyman will have a difficult time getting in on the inside. Then what happens? What's the real risk here?

I have very little interest in this exclusive side to peptides to be frank. It's just annoying to see this bullying on this forum when it's clearly a detriment to the community at large. And when it extends to things that are clearly not exclusive to your cult

If you’ve never seen the result of a source or platform being blown up by oversharing then you haven’t been around very long. XCE, a source found and “trained” on best practices by small discord groups, died after it spread all around Facebook and reddit, for example. Free speech absolutists have 4chan, go enjoy it and report back.

Then don’t join them. That’s their policy and if you want to join you need to go through their policies/procedures. No one is required to join and they don’t seek new members - people seek them.
