I spent a good 12 years admining and moderatoring forums back in the vBulletin era, including some with several thousand daily users.

I think mods and admins shouldn't expect anything different in how they are challenged on false assertions, etc. If you're running (or moderating) the place for the right reason, then you let the person argue with you the same as any regular members would.

I think this is particularly important in a space like this where people's health is on the line - unsubstantiated arguments just increase the risk.

My hot take is that moderators shouldn't engage with the community at all. Their job is to sit in the background and act as a janitor. If they must participate, do it on an alt so that it doesn't overly centralize the conversation due to their celebrity status. It's very rare to see any discussions progress organically when one side has more power or influence over the other.

And that's where my issue with TirzHelp comes in. Their qualifier for moderator appears to be who is the most active and spams chat the most. Most of the stuff the their mods are posting is extremely low quality. And don't even get me started on the weirdo mod with the 5 ai generated photos of muscular spaniard men.

Either a bot determined they were violating terms, or someone with a grievance reported the violation to telegram, so telegram shuts down the group. My money is on the guys eli Lilly has hired to monitor our little corner of the internet (hi guys, I’m sure you’re reading this). Send a scary letter from pharma lawyers and the path of least resistance quickly becomes nuking.

Agree 100%. It's Lilly's attorneys that did it and it's all driven by corporate greed.

Lilly's CEO has openly lied about grey market tirz claiming their testing showed poor purity and viruses, etc. There are hundreds of tests disproving that.

Re: moderation on the telegram. Some of the rules like what can’t be mentioned in the newbie channel is silly. Especially considering we’re all there to buy drugs in the gray market.

i've got opinions on things i'd do differently if i ran r/tirzhelp but overall they provide a service that the vast majority of folks don't want to do which is hand hold newbies so i think most complaints are splitting hairs in the grand scheme of things. they're literally just absorbing all the users that a vast majority of folks here hope to never run into on this forum or in your respective discord servers.

edit more thoughts: but yeah, as an outside observer it can be frustrating sometimes to see the cliques that form from the high volume commenters that mostly all seem to be mods. that's why i don't make it my main area to hang out and just drop by occasionally in little short bursts. but also i don't think i'm that places target audience, so it's okay if i find that to be a little annoying.

i do wish pep pens would stop being put on a pedestal by a lot of the power users, it creates this FOMO feeling for the newbies where they feel like they NEED it as opposed to a standard syringe and vial. but that's just my old man get off my lawn take. again, splitting hairs here. the net result of the chat is still a net positive for the community.

The pep pen is a nice point, I think there's a nasty side effect of encouraging and influencing new users to seek out experimental peptides.
