Yea sometimes I'll have a banana or apple. Never veggies though. I just never liked them lolThat sounds like you’re killing it with protein goals! That’s awesome! Do you eat fruit or veggies at all?
Breakfast: 2 protein bars and a protein shakeI’ve been on Tirz for about 3 months now and I’m down about 20 pounds. I’ve been working out and eating right, for the most part. I’m just curious what everyone else is eating on these meds. Bonus points if you share what you were eating in an average day at your highest weight too. Trying to get a picture of how much appetite is truly curbed.
You do have to eat or you will lose muscle mass, which is not idealSeeing all of these responses is really clueing me in to the fact I am not eating enough. I just forget to eat. I was like that before tirz though (adhd galore)
Breakfast- nothing
Lunch- usually nothing
Dinner- whatever we've made for the family. If I don't like it, I pick at it. I am realizing I am reverting to a 2 year old in my food choices. It has to be 'just right' or I don't eat anything. I don't eat anything processed or junk. But unless it is freshly prepped veggies and chicken/salmon with brown rice I basically don't eat.
On a good day I'll do eggs in the morning and have either Brussel sprouts, fresh green beans, asparagus and salmon for dinner.
I hate protein shakes/bars and don't like fruit really, something about how it feels to chew fruits...eurgh. Love veggies. Like meat. Like homemade bread. I do take a whole food multivitamin but still, I need to get it together. I feel like my kids eat all day long.
Absolutely right. Definitely not a great place to be at. I'm actively working to eat more simply so I have enough energy to do life. The exhaustion is real. You do have to eat or you will lose muscle mass, which is not ideal
You just described an ideal eating day for me lol!53/M

Typically getting 1700-1900 calories a day
Breakfast: 2 eggs in grass fed butter, Protein Shake
Lunch: Steak Salad (3oz) with avacado, blue cheese crumbles, tomato, house vinagerette dressing
Dinner: Steak or Chicken with Sweet Potato
I guess I should've told you the full day! I usually have a protein shake with two scoops of whey protein and fruit and skim milk for breakfast. 68 g of protein in about 550 cal. I drink around 80 oz of water throughout the day. I usually don't eat lunch, then around three or four I'll have the above pictured chicken dinner I prepped at home. A couple hours later I'll have an apple, maybe a couple of light string cheese sticks, and before bed I'll have a 20 g of protein Chobani yogurt drink. I sleep like a baby!476 cal 37g protein - I usually eat the same meal daily
prolly not enough fats nglLost 19lbs on Reta in May alone. I eat a Factor meal normally 45g protein and 20g carbs. Make a smoothie with AG1, creatine, BCAAS, 60g worth of straight whey, L-Carnitine, and Green banana powder all for breakfast. Have another smaller protein smoothie at lunch, about 30g protein. And then fast the rest of the day.
Seems to be working. Total is around 140g protein, 50g Carbs, and about 1100 calories. Also drink oodles and oodles of water.
This sounds awful what’s your dose? I am on 4.5 right now and have been avoiding going up because of these symptoms.Day of and next day after Tirz injection, almost nothing, because I cant. Rest of the week, sub survival amounts because the GI effects are too severe and I have zero appetite most of the time. Trying to make it 8 weeks to see if this can last, but I'm on week 6 and have serious doubts I can stay on this for another 2 weeks.
What did you eat on that diet plan? Do you feel you’re missing nutrients without vegetables? Not often. Was carnivore for almost 3 years before jumping on Reta.
Long story short is that I had NO intention of ever trying carnivore. It seemed WAY TO EXTREME. Then I found myself up nearly 20 pounds after a two week vacation needing to try something different. I realized that I cannot moderate myself so I need to abstain from my trigger foods (breads, pasta, cereal, desserts, etc.)What did you eat on that diet plan? Also, you should know that your comment sent me into a total spiral that ended with me demanding chat gbt tell me if “eating your veggies” is a ploy by “Big Farmers” (instead of big pharma 🤣 I laugh at my own jokes) I was legitimately having a meltdown
Multi day fasting sure helped be being on Reta. I lost 60lbs doing 36:8 for over a year. I Had a few 72 hrs for flexing my hunger lol. Sadly I let it slip and gained half back and when I tried to restart it just didn’t work again. I must have fried my metabolism. Fasting is honestly pretty great and I’ll never give it up completely. I learned heavy protein and fiber from fasting to retain muscle and if it hadn’t been for that my learning curve would have been much higher for Reta.Long story short is that I had NO intention of ever trying carnivore. I started following the teachings of Dr. Ken Berry and Dr. Shawn Baker as well as YT channels like HomeSteadHow and MyZeroCarbLife. I ate beef, butter, bacon, and eggs with ZERO fruit and veggies for 2.5 years. I used cheese as a crutch for a while until I realized it had a dramatic impact on my weight, so I tried to limit that as much as possible.
I did this all under the supervision of my doctor who had experience with carnivore himself. I had bloodwork taken every 5-6 months and had a colonoscopy a few months ago and everything was good.
During one of my bloodwork sessions, my vitamin C came in a little low so I started supplementing with that and it quickly corrected itself.
What's crazy to me is that I ate ZERO FIBER for 2.5 years and had no major issues. I did find that things move easier when I eat more fat. On a related note, my bms decreased significantly. I went from going 2-3 times a day to 2-3 times a week. Psychologically it was VERY strange, but to me it just meant that my body was using more of what I ate and had very little waste as a result. That definitely goes against what I had been taught my entire life.
I don't think that Carnivore is for everyone, but it worked for me and helped my relationship with food. Being in ketosis is a natural appetite suppressant and that allowed me to experiment with intermittent and multi-day fasting.
Circle back to today. I now have berries with homemade yogurt and protein powder a few times a week. I also have 2-3 cans of sardines almost every day (my Omega 3s were low on my last round of bloodwork) and I'm looking forward to see my next set of results. I will also occasionally have a very small salad with steak if I'm in the mood but I would say I'm still heavy on the protein.
