What is the strongest concentration that is ok for a vial of Tirzepatide?

Overfill changes those calculations, so it's not going to just be 17 units. 🤷‍♂️

Since there was no mention of overfill I didn't put that into my calculations. Not every batch has a significant amount of overfill and some are even underfilled.

edited to add:
If the vial is actually 65mg than 17 units is actually 10.9mg. Not that big of a deal really. But if she wants to get as close to 10mg as possible then she should inject 15 units instead.

But for someone just starting out, they shouldn't assume that it's 60.00mg. Either they're going to take too big of a dose than they're expecting and possibly feel ill, or underdose and think it's not working. Most will be fine if they take a larger dose than expected, but they may be that one that gets ill and then blames gray for causing it. That's all.

I've wondered that before; if there's a point at which it's syrupy from too much mannitol in too little water. Then I thought about injecting myself with mannitol syrup, got grossed out, and just went and did something else.

Edit: Well this is concerning. I punched in the NAD+ reconstitution that I've always seen, which is 3 ml in a 500mg vial, and it has super high risk all over the place.

That's if you banged all of it 3cc.... or 3 full diabetic syringes.

My T60 vials from JY tested at 69.32mg (might be off on the mcg), so there's plenty even at 15mg dose.

I thought I wouldn’t like injecting a large number of units, but with the guesswork involved in averaging what we think is the pep content of a vial, I’d prefer to have more BAC (lower concentration) and more units so that being unit or two off poses a significantly less difference in mg than when using less BAC/higher concentration/fewer units.

I’m also using 40-ish units, which I thought would bother me, but it doesn’t at all.

Ah. Concentration shouldn't make any difference to safety. I mean in the hospital they will inject medicine into an IV bag. We are just using less water.

Ever heard of Red Man's Syndrome? That's what happens when they slam Vancomycin too quickly into a patient.

They had to dial it back for me to a lighter concentration - my face turned into a giant swollen tomato.

I may have her add a little more BAC to her vial.

Good point. I don't think a vial will take more than 2ml of bac, at 1.5 my vials look pretty filled.

Ok I had her add 1 more ml to her reconstituted Tirz. So now it’s at at safer 32.5mg/mL concentration. Since our tests showed the vials all were testing at 2.5(ish) overfill, that’s a safe number for her.

No I get that and probably should consider it. I do the math in my head and estimate. Then I forget my calculations and how much bac I added. Started putting tape and sharpie labels on my vials.

I like it. I can scan it ( forget what the hell you call those barcode thingies?) and see the Janoshik COA, too. I put the BAC amount used and the units to use for whatever mg I wanted on it.
