Why are GLPs/peptides so often sent in for testing by customers?

Hey everyone, I’m quite new to GLP’s in the grey market and i’m curious as to why many people like to test the GLP’s and peptides they receive from Chinese vendors.

I know that it’s to make sure the product they receive is actually what they ordered and not some mysterious powder, but…

Is there a decent chance that these sellers may be selling fake/unpure peptides? Wouldn’t these vendors want to make sure to maintain a good reputation?

Thanks!

The biggest issue isn't fakes but mistakes.
  • overfills which means you take a higher dose than planned, leading to side effects
  • underfills, meaning you take a lower dose than planned, leading to thinking it isn't working.
  • 0 peptides, which happens rarely but does happen!
  • mixed peptides, meaning you don't really know what you're taking and could be quite unwell from side effects
  • sterility and endotoxin issues from the factory, increasing the chances of ISRs and illness
  • low purity from high levels of degradation, suggesting an issue with the storage and ultimately impacting your dosage.
  • incorrect labelling so you are sent the wrong peptide, which again doesn't happen often but has happened.

Vendors are not generally malicious but mistakes do happen so testing provides a level of assurance to those of us using these peptides that we are taking what we think we are, in the quantities we think we are.

Total newbie to grey, but a reason (in addition to all the things @littledragon25 mentions) that I'm considering sending a vial for testing is that even if I pay for a test all on my own, my cost per mg will be significantly cheaper than what I paid for over the last year for compounded and brand tirz. Significantly cheaper, so there is definitely room to spend on testing.

The China peptides aren't produced in FDA inspected facilites. Mistakes happen in those facilities too, but are so rare that they make the news. You can generally feel confident in drugs produced in an FDA inspected facility. We, the grey market users, basically are the FDA inspectors. The burden, and the risk, are entirely on us. If you are entering the world of the grey market it is important that you understand that distinction.

Absolutely right, I think it cost me roughly 5-7% of what I was paying for brand and instead of dancing around each month to try get some kind of 'deal' signing up to new pharmacies which are unreliable, I have 2 years worth in my freezer. I now feel far more comfortable, which is silly really I should be less sure going down this road.. but I'm happy.

Some companies don't care about reputation. If you get sick or die, there is nothing you can do against them.

They care about money and will sell you whatever to make a dollar. If they develop a bad reputation they just close up that company name and start using another company name.
