GROUP BUY CAUTION!!!

I am in a similar boat to tul9033 with QSC except I didn’t send the BTC because (I learned) there is a long holding period after you buy BTC before you can send it. So it understandably went out of stock while waiting. I chose BTC because that is what they asked for but I noticed the volatility too. Can I ask what coin you use? And what app lets you send to China? I tried using PayPal crypto first for convenience but the wallet address came up “not available in my area” so I moved to Coinbase but never got to see if it would let me send to the wallet address.
I use Coinbase with Coinbase Wallet, and USDC via Ethereum network. But a lot of people like Solana network because the fees are lower. Don't send payment directly from Paypal or Cashapp, it can get your account flagged. Best to buy the crypto, send it to your wallet, then send the payment from your wallet. There are some good tutorials out there on how to buy peps with crypto

Thank you for the tips! I will look around!

If you are using Coinbase be careful of network selection. Their proprietary (default) network for USDC is "base" which is not acceptable to QSC. You will send $ into a black hole. (Like I did, unrecoverable)

USDT (Tether) sent ETH-20 (Ethernet) stable, cheap and acceptable. Don't know much about Crapto but I lost more in the time it took (minutes, Bitcoin) than the cost of the kit. Cancelled my kit order (since I didn't have enough coin, basically emptied my cart) and sat on the Bitcoin for a couple weeks while it recovered to cash out.

Thank you for the tip about the network! I was 100% assuming that base is standard - hence the name Coinbase 🤦🏻‍♀️. The only things stopping me from sending literally hundreds of dollars into the void at this point are technical issues and my own poor planning, it seems.

I’ve spent the better part of the afternoon looking into this “not available in your region” thing with PayPal and it turns out PayPal just hates letting people send crypto to external wallets, go figure. It’s a known issue. I thought it was that I was trying to send it to China but even when I got my own Coinbase wallet it wouldn’t transfer there either. So at least that part wasn’t my fault. I’ll probably end up doing what you did, wait until it appreciates, sell it (pay paypal fees again, curse them), and move the money to Coinbase through my bank.

I’ve had issues with sending crypto in PayPal and ended up buying PayPal usd on Venmo and was able to send to my exodus wallet

How did you swap from PYUSD to Sol/ETH on Exodus? I had to send the PYUSD back to PP, swap in PP, then send to Exodus.

Be curious your method…

I sent it to my PYUSD address on Solana. Then use Jupiter to swap to USDT Sol or USDC Sol.

I follow, the key is SOL and using Jupiter. I bought PYUSD ETH and could t use Jupiter.

Appreciate the response!

Glad you caught it! Coinbase's "recovery tool" doesn't work either once you've transferred it to a wallet (at least in my $375 loss).

I looked at the destination blockchain of successful unrecoverable transfers from people who made the same mistake. Thousands of dollars! I suspect if QSC ever decides to cease operations someone will figure a way to accept "base" long enough to grab the cash.

You would think a "successful" transaction (as the Blockchain indicates) replete with Transaction Hash is good enough. Kind of like you finding a delivery at your door and not knowing if it traveled via plane, truck or horse... Not so with Crapto.

The good news is 3 kits for what 1 cost a bit ago so even adding the $375 to my total it was still a good deal. I said it here "No More Crapto" then the $95/ T15 deal a few days ago... Back to Coinbase I went 😂

I really wanted that deal too 😭 that’s what started all this

@tul9033 probably the easiest would be to just fund it through PayPal (get some PYUSD through PayPal and then swap into USDT or USDC via Jupiter).. I recommend Solana network, as mentioned earlier. Ferel free to DM me if you hit roadblocks
To add more context to this in case OP or others read this... If buying PYUSD in PP, you can convert the PYUSD in the PP wallet directly to ETH or SOL. Then you transfer to a third party wallet. Once in the external wallet, you can convert it to the coin of choice before sending to the vendor. Do not send any type of coin from PP to a vendor, PP will block your account for suspicious activity.

EDIT: I added an additional step which may or may not be needed.

Thanks guys, I was just looking at PayPal last night and wondering how to get USDT/USDC from PP. You guys have given the extra steps needed. Thanks for the info, I'm going to do a trial run this week.

I edited my above post to add an extra step...

You convert PYUSD to USDC via Jupiter. While you could convert to one of the currencies (SOL etc) I'd rather pick a stablecoin to avoid unnecessary risk w/ fluctuations.

At this point my sympathy for tracy problems are nil. It's plastered everywhere that when something goes wrong you're going to be unhappy with the process and resolution. You'll get something eventually or just ask for your bc back.
I've asked for my bitcoin back and its stall, stall, stall. Still haven't gotten it back. Every time I ask about it they come back next day with "would you like xxx instead?" I say REFUND. A few more days go by I ask again, next day "how about xxx" reply REFUND, still nothing. Lesson learned, if I ever order from QSC again place the order on the first day of GB, pay immediately with order and send confirmation. That *might* reduce order complications.

I guess that is one way to interpret that lesson... I just chose to never buy from them again. There is no shortage of other options.

Update! I got my refund a few minutes ago. Only short 3000 SOLS. I can put this one behind me.

Yesterday I joined Coinbase to pay QSC (TUSD-ERC20). I was terrified but it worked out but I am still confused. I transferred some USD to coinbase then to my USDC wallet. I saw comments above about not transferring from base. I started a transfer to QSC and it said base network, so I made it for $1 USDC. No fee. I told QSC I sent a $1 USDC test. I spent a while figuring out how to create a USDC wallet on etherium. I transferred all the money into that wallet paying etherium fees. Then QSC said they received the $1 test. So I transferred the rest via the etherium network paying another fee. It seems like I could have used base and not paid any fees. I am not sure though. Maybe they saw someone else's $1 USDC test.

I think you're talking about sending from your wallet that is in coinbase? in that case the recommendation is usually because every once and a while qsc's wallet gets tagged and then your coinbase account will get locked for sending to an illegal wallet.

I transferred cash from bank to Coinbase exchange then to self-custody "Coinbase Wallet" and was able to transfer USDC via base network to QSC (TUSD-ERC20). No fees at any stage. Your warning had me scared but is incorrect. Your transaction seems to have been blocked because you used the exchange to transfer instead of a self-custody wallet, not because of the base network.

Sorry I actually purchased from QST not QSC. So I don't know if self-custody wallet on base network to QSC works

May I recommend you slow down a bit.. I'm just concerned you're on your way to lose money by getting these networks confused. Glad it worked out this time... PS. In general, fees are lower on Solana (than Ethereum network/ERC20) and many vendors do not accept Base network.. which is why you keep hearing us recommend Solana network

Still a big chunk of change... Why didn't you get a full refund?
Less than $3 which I'm OK with. I sent on the 4th and that $300 is now worth over $400. The less communication with QSC the better at this point.

You have given instructions on how to lose money through the Base Network. QSC does not receive/recover funds sent through the black hole of Base Network, Period.

Instead of "whoopsie, my bad" in a later post you should fix it.

From QSC

QSC Payments:

Payment methods:

QSC accepts Bank transfer (USD domestic, EUR domestic, AUD domestic) and International transfers in several other currencies.

If you send a bank transfer, put your "name" as reference.

If you put "QSC", or mention the purchase of products, or something else beside your name, your transfer will be rejected.

QSC also accepts cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, USDT, USDC, ETH.

Many networks are accepted: ERC20, TRC20, Solana, Avalanche, OKTC, Polygon.

We do not accept: Base, LTC, XMR, Paypal, CC... So no need to ask for them.

This information is not on their more frequently posted promos. The mistake I made was jumping the gun and paying them promptly (which is also important because promos sell out quickly). There are thousands of dollars in the Blockchain intended for QSC just sitting there, unrecoverable because people used Base instead of Eth.
