i'm always surprised when i see folks making massive orders totaling in the thousands. don't put yourself in such a risky position. while you can do things to mitigate risk like selecting a vendor with a strong, long term reputation... the risk of them cutting bait and running will never be zero.

a notion doc for a scammy facebook group got leaked a little bit ago and someone did a time lapse of it and the amount of 2-3k+ orders i saw on there was just staggering. self control people, self control!

Because if someone actually wanted to blow up the scene they could do that easily it seems like with replacing with something dangerous. I think it is someone who just wants to interrupt other sellers business. But yeah for me it is a new fear unlocked.

I know Gonk (the person who created this forum) made a good post on discord many moons ago warning about exit scams. That was the first time I heard about that. But apparently it is common in this industry.

Seems like the timing is all wrong to do an exit scam right now anyway if someone were really trying to capitalize. I mean we're seeing the early panic from the recent FDA news, but I would think the real marks will be the stragglers who start showing up in February.

I haven't read the details on discord yet, but just from skimming this thread, a bunch of sellers all having the same source and getting scammed by them or someone working for them sounds 10000x more plausible than the other stuff people are throwing out there. I mean the grey market community is relatively small. The thought that there are all of these different labs finishing their own peptides to satisfy a relative handful of customers never really made sense to me. EL planting someone in their 3PL to swap vials out? Lol. It cracks me up how everyone around here seems to go straight for the most sinister sounding explanation for things.

I fear we're about to start seeing a lot of scams and shady vendors popping up with all of the unsuspecting newcomers though.

Yes, one company (who name I don't know) but who sells to multiple places makes a great deal of sense.

I completely agree with you that (1) you're far better off using a vendor who has been selling for a long time and (2) any time you buy from a grey market vendor, there will always be far more risk involved than your typical Walmart.com or Amazon.com purchase.

From what I have read, the group buys affected are not revealing their vendors. So, we really are just speculating. For instance: Bucky’s GB tested zero pep Reta. My Reta label from a different group buy (out for testing now) matched his Reta label. Then, my tirz30 from same buy had no effect on me, so I checked that label and found it was also a match. Other people in my GB also reporting no effect from tirz. I have no incentive to test the tirz because it cost less to just replace it, but I’m certain there’s no pep in that vial. See? Speculation based on some concrete bit of info.

If the theory that half the sellers are just sales people for one particular company are correct, they could all share the same shipping warehouse. I'm still waiting to see if I can get access to The Swiss so I'm wildly uninformed about who this has affected other than GYC. But if everyone shipped from the same warehouse, it makes sense multiple were involved

This was my first thought. In October, there was some legal action/enforcement in China that the vendors referred to. It was about the same time as the DOJ indicting some companies like SRY. New source pathways, bank accounts, etc. were being formed. I think it affected factories. Perfect time for an exit scam.

If there is an exit scam they don't ship anything. As has been pointed out earlier this stuff cost pennies. The difference between a fake vial and a vial with a few sprinkles of tirz is very negligible and they wouldn't go through the hassle.

Yeah—this is all bad. I have two kits of the fake stuff (r10 and t30) that’s not even on their list. That means that multiple companies were hit. If you want to know more, join The Swiss on Discord, where they are tracking all this.

We're still trying to figure this out, but I haven't heard anyone mention ASC or ZYH. If you haven't gotten the product you ordered from GYC you're probably safe.

I know people think folks are crazy for sticking with QSC but at least with them I know they have their own operations. Each XYZ new seller popping up who knows who their manufacturer is and whose warehouses their share. It is just a guessing game.

Longevity is a major factor in picking a vendor, but you are falsely assuming qsc has their own operations. Most people believe qsc is also just reseller.

If a group buy delivers 0% fill and continues to protect the identity of the vendor I’d suggest not using them again.

Krysia's (who has spent a lot of time researching this issue and talking with people directly involved) current leaning is that this was not the freight forwarder but more likely a finisher that GYC and a couple of GB's were buying from provided zero peptide product.

If it is a factory/finisher making an exit, they got paid for these last batches and didn’t have to buy any peptides to put in them.

If a group buy delivers 0% fill and continues to protect the identity of the vendor I’d suggest not using them again.
