Hi All,
For those that have been on the weight loss journey with GLP-1s, if you had to start over all over again would you go with Triz or Reta as your first GLP?

Personally, I am thinking about starting Triz first and then moving on to Reta at a later time. Someone told me to "keep my options open" in case my progress stalls on one peptide so that I have still have other options. I know each of our bodies are different and we may not have the same experience on the same peptides, but just trying to figure out a great starting point.

Additionally, how you do feel about me stacking Amino 5 1 MQ while starting my first GLP? This was some information that was told to me by multiple people (as to avoid losing muscle mass, though I am exercising and doing cardio already).

Keep in mind, I've been a fata*s my whole life, even as a child. My metabolism is just garbage and needs some help. I've lost over 60lbs+ on diet changes and cardio alone, but I haven't been able to get the rest of this off. Thanks in advance for your insight

If I were starting all of this again, I would take Semaglutide first. It’s super cheap, and to me it has no effect after being on Tirz. I would do Sema, Tirz than Reta.

I would not start different peptides at the same time. Take one to see how it works and then try another of you feel like you need it.

Would start with Reta. Especially with being potentially GLP-1 naive. Works great and the side effect profile is a lot less in my experience than the others. Used Tirz to start but stopped after about 5 weeks (constipation, ridiculous insomnia, anhedonia). With Reta, I’ve largely had none of those problems. And the weight loss was a lot faster with it.

I personally chose to start on reta. I did have some side effects, but switched to micro dosing 3 days a week those side effects are gone. 2 months in I'm only on 3mg. I take 1mg M, W, F. Sometimes I have slight food noise, but I'm ok with that. Eventually, you will have to learn to eat without extra help. Days I have food noise are also the same days I haven't had enough water and fiber. I view GLP1s as a tool and not a crutch I can't live without.

Sema then tirz. I lost a bit over 30 (194 to 161) pounds on sema, highest dose 1.0mg. It was slow but it came off. I went to maintenance for awhile. It gave me a chance to manage where I was. I switched to tirz 4 weeks ago currently dosing at 3.0mg. Gonna continue to microdose to get to 145 pounds. Would like to try reta but the racing heart side effect gives me pause.

I don't think this can be discussed without knowing more about your specific goals and risk tolerance and budget.

For example I chose reta as my first GLP-1, because I was interested in its allegedly superior performance... And I don't need the superior appetite suppression of sema. Food noise isn't my problem, it's more about eating too much when I DO eat.

And, reta isn't even a "real" drug yet. We take it because all the available evidence is that it's great, but imaging telling your doctor that you are taking it? Even if they are open minded they'd probably scold you for taking underground unapproved reta when sema and tirz are available and better understood.

Yeah good advice, take the cheapest one that works for you, then go from there

No need to stack in my opinion unless you got to the max dosage and even then

My RHR is average 80s. That is scary to have that high a jump..
Yep. It wasn't fun. One thing I was recommended to try with the Tirz after a few weeks was add 1mg of Survo 3 days after every Tirz. Adds more GLP-1 and Glucagon which makes it work a lot like Reta without the cardiac side effect and helps with the food noise. Absolutely happy with that so far. Problem is, one-size-fits-all doesn't work well in this research effort.

The only good reasons to start anything other than Reta is if you have a particularly bad reaction to it or you can't afford it. It's a better drug all the way around on so many levels.
I’m sure some folks might be hesitant to start with Reta because it hasn’t made it out of phase 3 trials yet. Nothing wrong with playing it safe.

Sema did nothing for me except give me constipation. Tirz was good but made some foods taste funny (coffee didn’t taste right, steak was meh, tomatos didn’t taste right). Because of all the odd effects on stuff I love, I lived on protein shakes and vitamin/mineral supplements. They didn’t taste great, but nothing tasted good anyway. Then I learned about Reta. Oh lawd I can enjoy coffee again. My ribeye tastes good again. My salads- fabulous! ….except I still have to make myself eat. Nothing sounds good right now. It’s great when I break down and make it, but I just.. don’t wanna bother.. unless it’s coffee. I love my coffee.
But to answer your question? Reta. If it doesn’t kick your tail heart rate wise, it would be my choice. And start on a bowel regimen before you think you have a problem, ok?
