WARNING: Beware of SRY – Don’t Get Ripped Off!

I think this is a perfect example of the public nature of GLP1F getting Alan's attention. The OP (or OP's) tried for two weeks to get it resolved privately and then turned to a public forum as a last resort. I am 99.9% certain that SRY would have continued to ignore them had they not posted here (and on other sites). They also did everything correctly in the transaction and could not have known that even though SRY "accepts" pyUSD they really don't know how to work with it.

Looks like there will be a resolution after all!

I talked to Simo and my order is being sent to the warehouse. Thank you everyone for the support!

I'm happy they came through for you two! While very late to the game in their response they made is about as good is it can be given the circumstances. They are making it right, threw in some extras, apologized, and are taking steps to prevent it from happening again. Thats what I wanted to see as it's what I would have done.

I don’t understand why folks are determined to use crypto when easier methods with protection are available. SRY are NOT scammers. They’ve always been great to work with. I’ve placed 5 orders with them. Fast shipping. Always use Alibaba Pay. No issues.

I actually prefer crypto. And they haven't always accepted Alibaba Pay. The problem is that there was NOT a clear understanding on SRYs end on accepting PYUSD, but they accepted it. The onus is on them. Does that make them scammers? Not at all. I think they are one of the most honorable vendors still around. But they are not immune to mistakes and need to do better to resolve them when they happen. There is no doubt this post and its companion would not have happened if they made it right over the last 2 weeks.

That being said, I can play devil's advocate a bit and understand that they also get falsely accused of scamming, and probably have their fair share of people trying to scam them. So, if they open their wallet ignorant of how to accept PYUSD and don't see the money, I can't exactly be surprised they might have assumed this was one of those cases. Add a sprinkle of obvious internal and international communication issues, and it is easy to see why it can take so long to resolve something like this.

As expected, they came through in the end, and appear to have learned a new lesson. So, I plan to move forward with my own new order with them shortly.

Did Alan

Did Alan confirm that they can accept PyUSD?

Sometimes the reps (and I have used Simo before) don't really understand crypto and will pretty much say anything to get the sale. I typically use USDT and also transfer using Exodus that flags if there is anything wrong with the address I am trying to send $$ to.
I wondered this too.

Not lashing out when I say ~👇

sales rep not having their crap together/correct info is on them ( sales person & company they represent ) and customer shouldn’t pay for companies mistake. JMO

It took Alan 2 weeks to even respond to any messages of mine. I spoke to 3 different reps about this problem. You think they didn’t mentioned it to their boss? And Alan is only responding publicly now because it’s all over the message boards.

Just because you are hearing about it today doesn’t mean we haven’t been fighting this for weeks! It’s absolutely ridiculous.

You would let someone take your money, not send you a product or give you a response?! Really?!
It’s especially ridiculous when you place your order EVERY response is almost immediate. When figuring where to send payment & confirmation of payment, again, very quick response time.
Once payment is made you need to understand these folks have thousands of customers and just BE PATIENT ALREADY.

No.

I get it’s the grey/black market but c’mon folks… we share these experiences to help one another and ( I thought ) hold companies accountable. A business is a business and when the CUSTOMER holds up their end the BUSINESS should hold up theirs.

In a perfect world of course🫠

Edited to add that I’m glad you got it all straightened out and Alan did right by you in the end.

I'm genuinely surprised by the amount of folks siding with the vendor and/or accusing the OP of something, across multiple boards no less. In the SRY server I'm not as surprised. What in somebody's processing has them coming to those conclusions? I dont get it.

Even if they eventually make it right I can't see myself working with them. OP has gone above and beyond in presenting evidence, has cut and dry facts and admissions from them, been very patient, and they are still yanking him around. For what? $300? gtfo. Trashy used car sales level of slime.
It looks like this case was legitimate, but we've seen a whole lot of examples of people sending crypto to the wrong place. Wrong coin, wrong network, etc. I've seen 5 or 6 similar complaints in the past few months and all of them ended up being the fault of the person sending the payment.

In this case there was enough information for someone who understands crypto to see that the payment was sent on the right network to the right wallet, but I can understand people that are less familiar jumping to the conclusion that this was yet another mistake in where the money was sent.

You make good & fair points here.

If the folks didn't understand crypto enough to know whom to blame, they shouldn't have been blaming OP.

Unless you happen to have a lot of that crypto, why not use USDT or BTC? They're much more common and I've never had problems with either one.

EDIT: Posted on same day, same story, same amount, same PYUSD network, same sales agent, using PYUSD that SRYAlan doesn't even know they offer.
DIFFERENT POSTER - Logic rules the day
Buddy did you even bother looking at the blockchain? There's two separate payments of $300 to SRY's Pyusd address 11 hours apart coming from two separate wallets. One on March 5th and the other on March 6th.

In fact there were 3 separate payments of $300 made from 3 separate wallets all within 3 days of each other... oooooh must be the Illuminati
