Should I stack tirz and reta, or just use reta?

I am on the first month of tirz, so 2.5 mgs, and only recently learned of reta. Would it make more sense to just do reta or to stack with tirz?

Stacking the two wouldn’t make much sense, they hit overlapping receptors, so you’d double up on side effects without added benefit. Better to ride Tirz through dose escalation and see how your body responds before even thinking about switching or combining.

I would stick with the tirz. for now and see how you respond over time. You can add reta. or switch over to it later if you stall out. This is an exiting time and if you pay attention to the details your results will be amazing. Keep it simple and use 1 at a time until you know how each effects you. Keep protein high and get your resistance training dialed in to preserve lean mass. Good luck on your journey, keep posting as you get results.

Ditto to the above comments - sound advice. If you stack anything with tirz, I recommend one that doesn’t load up the same receptors.

If you want to lose more than 15% of your pre-tirzepatide weight, I could see why you might want to try to retatrutide instead. Much of the bad side effects of these medicines come from their GLP-1 action. Semaglutide has stronger GLP-1 effects than tirzepatide. Tirzepatide has stronger GLP-1 effects than retatrutide. Also, eating is way more enjoyable without having that feeling that your stomach is full. On reta, I actually desire to eat less even though I enjoy eating more than when on a high dose of tirz.

For cost reasons, it might make sense to combine tirz and reta since you already own the tirz (and tirz is cheaper).

I do think that there is some advantage in terms of safety and knowing what to do with tirzepatide because the stage 3 trials have been conducted, tirzepatide has been FDA approved, and it has already been informally tested in the real world by millions of folks.
