Should I stack tirz and reta, or just use reta?

I am on the first month of tirz, so 2.5 mgs, and only recently learned of reta. Would it make more sense to just do reta or to stack with tirz?

I would stick with the tirz. for now and see how you respond over time. You can add reta. or switch over to it later if you stall out. This is an exiting time and if you pay attention to the details your results will be amazing. Keep it simple and use 1 at a time until you know how each effects you. Keep protein high and get your resistance training dialed in to preserve lean mass. Good luck on your journey, keep posting as you get results.

Ditto to the above comments - sound advice. If you stack anything with tirz, I recommend one that doesn’t load up the same receptors.

If you want to lose more than 15% of your pre-tirzepatide weight, I could see why you might want to try to retatrutide instead. Much of the bad side effects of these medicines come from their GLP-1 action. Semaglutide has stronger GLP-1 effects than tirzepatide. Tirzepatide has stronger GLP-1 effects than retatrutide. Also, eating is way more enjoyable without having that feeling that your stomach is full. On reta, I actually desire to eat less even though I enjoy eating more than when on a high dose of tirz.

For cost reasons, it might make sense to combine tirz and reta since you already own the tirz (and tirz is cheaper).

I do think that there is some advantage in terms of safety and knowing what to do with tirzepatide because the stage 3 trials have been conducted, tirzepatide has been FDA approved, and it has already been informally tested in the real world by millions of folks.

What @keangkong said, but I haven’t used TIRZ. I’ve watched the wife on Sema for close to two years now. Brother in law and his wife on Tirz for close to a year. I’ll take my Reta over the sides I’ve watched with the others. That said, the results of Sema and Tirz for my family are AMAZING! Don’t discount that at all. My vote overall is use the Tirz, you already paid for it. Switch or stack if you stall out or sides are 💩. Listen to your body.

I just added Reta because been stalled on Tirz last couple months which I've moved up to 12.5mg and was doing 10mg Tirz every 5 days. I figured I could try Reta and see if that worked. I meant to start with .25mg dose, but forgot my calculations and did .5mg Reta to start. Probably /hoping fine since way up on Tirz. I tried adding cjc295 w/o dac but noticed nothing, maybe even up an oz or two everytime I did a shot. Maybe I need more exercise or protein when taking that. Anyway hope the hunger suppression works with not much nausea. I rarely have constipation because drinks tons of water so we shall see. I'm not sure whether to alternate/stack Reta / Tirz or not. Seems most on this thread say no.

Stacking the two wouldn’t make much sense, they hit overlapping receptors, so you’d double up on side effects without added benefit. Better to ride Tirz through dose escalation and see how your body responds before even thinking about switching or combining.
Myself have been doing that for a month now.
3-4 mg of reta and 2-3 mg tirza.
Sunday Reta and wednesday tirz.
I find that mixing them works great and i actually think that Tirz so far is the best compund for me.

Not true, if you take less of each, and dont take on the same days. I am stacking these, as have many others quite successfully. The only side effect I have gotten is sleepiness in the afternoons. My food noise is absent, so is hunger. I eat to reach goals and mostly feel great. I am dosing under both protocals.
The emphasis of Reta on the other receptors, combined with Tirz emphasis on Glp1 means they fit together like a puzzle. So far it is working well for me.

The tirz won't hit your glucagon receptor.

From my understanding the initial dosing schedule being once weekly was to give the receptors a slight break for a couple days.

Seems like splitting between reta a tirz would be more beneficial than splitting tirz into a twice a week dose. While still giving the glucagon receptor a break.

Also seems to be more beneficial than splitting a reta dose because from my understanding tirz has better anti-inflammatory benefits and food noise control. Those things considered I can see the logic in it.

I've been enjoying excellent results on Tirz alone. Started May 5, down 51.8 pounds as of today. Recommend sticking with Tirz alone to see how it goes
