Syringe Filter

Hydrophilic PVDF also has an affinity for low-protein binding. PVDF is typically hydrophobic so make sure the filter is treated so it’s hydrophilic.

Filters of the same diameter/material from different manufacturers may have different holdback volumes. The key, from my experience, is to purge with bac water and air so the concentration of the filtered peptide remains unchanged.

Peptide Test does have the syringes in stock now/today - and you can buy singles for $1.60ea. If you spend $40 (25 PES syringes), shipping is free. I just ordered and will get mine soon. I already have sterile Luer lock needles. Sterile vials also ordered from Medical and Lab Supplies (25/5ml for $41 +shpng/tax). They only had 2ml, 5ml and up. I had not been filtering but thinking ....why not? Looks simple enough if carefully done and I think better to filter than to not for my RS.

I'm actually switching to pens and plan to filter into the cartridges. So I don't have a source I've bought from that I can recommend, unfortunately. Maybe someone else will chime in.

I did see someone on one of the group buy servers selling syringe filter kits (1 filter, 1 lure lock and 1 vial, all individually wrapped) for a few bucks a while ago, but I can't track that down. I thought that was pretty clever and convenient. If I find that again I'll share a link.

Is this what you are going to try?

I was going to get an auto injector for insulin pens but this is what I actually want. I just wish they had instructions because I have no clue what I need and in what quantities.
What specifically are you unsure on? If you look at Peptide Tests youtube channel (video posted earlier is from him) he has videos explaining the process. In the case of using a PepPen, you would just sub the vial sent with the PepPen in for the sterile vile he uses in the video. He explains what you need to do it as well.

The PepPen site has videos on filling/using the pens as well.

Is this what you are going to try?

I got a HUMAPEN off aliexpress.us but I haven’t used it yet so can't comment other than it's cheap.

Aliexpress.us has the exact same pens the sell on peppens as well at like half the cost, but i dont have a link handy. Peppens is just a reseller.

You can check out the Peppen thread on hear...In that thread we have already posted a lot of the videos.

PepPens

I have bought from both USP Supply and PepPens and had a great experience with both.
I bought my pens from PepPens when they were having a 1/2 off sale so I got mine for $15/each 🙂

AliExpress is usally around $18 and a longer wait but lower shipping costs.
I think EZP Supply is still running 20% off if you join their Telegram Channel which brings the price down to $24/per pen.

Thank you! I am going to take a look now 🏃‍♀️💨

Also forgot to mention I had just saw they are doing a prebuy on this website for pens at $15
https://shop.yeffopep.com/

I have not ordered from there before but I see them in a lot of the channels and SEEMS reliable.
Also if you need them VERY quickly it may not be the right answer for you.
Also don't know what shipping costs would be but if you start an order it may tell you. 👍

Love MedEx so far as BAC Water (pack of 25 Pfizer for $86)... syringes... Alcohol swabs... Umm pretty much everything I need (for the most part).

Definitely a solid place to stock up.on Bacteriostatic Water, 30mL (25 pack). Super cheap.

I think I'll order through them next time. My AMSCO order is still "processing" and it's almost 2 weeks. Hopefully MedEx will still be around in 3 years when I need more Bac Water.

Mine still showed as processing the day it was delivered

You just need to make sure whatever you get is Luer Lock Tips...Having said that the items @PopTart listed all look great!

Here are the links for her stuff because when I clicked on it, it only brings up a pic instead of the items on Amazon...so I manually typed them in for ya'll 😉

Syringe Filter
3ml Luer Lock Tip Syringes
100 Pack 27Ga 1.5 Inch Sterile Disposable Injection Needle
Injection Port, with Flip Off Aluminum Cap,Sterile Package (3ml,10)

I am planning on adding at least a couple of her items to my shopping list also.
I believe I saw in video where with the 1.5" needles you can reach all the way to the bottom of the 3ml vials...so no need to invert to get the last drop out. 🙂

Edit...I forgot to mention I had looked at the filter @PopTart is using but I couldn't get that particular one delivered to me until October14 so I went looking for other options.

PepOhio, did you end up purchasing these lure lock syringes and needles from Amazon? Or do you have a better source? Did anyone else buy from another place?

Because of the delivery times listed at the time, I ordered the ones from Biomed Scientific sold on Walmart but fulfilled and shipped by Biomed Scientific from earlier in the thread.

Just showed up yesterday. Plan on experimenting this weekend since I want to use filtered peptides for a while starting next week.

If I could have gotten them quicker at the time I would have ordered the Cobetter ones since they are better known. Depending on how I feel about the losses when I experiment I will either order 13mm Cobetter next time or preferably 4mm ones mentioned above if they are in stock and available again at a good price.

@iamedbile ?

I am reading all of this with a lot of interest. Thanks for the info and links, very much appreciated 🙂 I would like to order the stuff on Amazon but I wonder if they are trustworthy and if the material is really sterile? Maybe I am being paranoid but I don’t have a lot of experience ordering from Amazon. What I do know is that they’re not a certified medical institute. Your thoughts on this?
Make sure you’re getting Hospira brand Bac water.
And https://www.peptidetest.com/lab-supply
It’s a good source for filters and such

Their site also shows BAC water along with the filters. The vial shows Hospira. Can I assume Peptidetest is reliable with their BAC aswell? They have the cheapest individual vials for sale at 7.

I’m sure what they’re selling is solid.

It is super expensive for me to order from peptide test since I am from Europe. I have been looking for my supplies in and around Belgium. The filters I found were also US based but their delivery cost to Europe was a lot lower then the one from peptide test .I use this BAC water (see picture) and never had any problems with it with the Tirz I used from my previous vendor. It worked just fine up until now.

@Fonkymonky
Hey that packaging in the picture is in some strange foreign language...How are us illiterate Americans suppose to understand it? 😉 🤣

I'm not a total newbie but new to using filters.

Do you think this filter is ok? It seems to meet the specificationos everyone talks about it is PES, .22 um 13 mm. I am not sure if it is hydrophobic or hydrophilic though.

deleted: this company only sells to labs not individuals.

I got this pack from them today. Hospira BAC and sterile filters, great price! I haven’t used them just yet, but I got what I ordered & quickly, if that helps!

I agree they look like they check the boxes as far as I can see. The only thing I don't see mentioned unless I missed it is male/female luer lock for attaching syringes/needles. The picture looks like it is showing a luer lock though I think.
50 is alot of filters though 🤷‍♂️ 😉

How long was the shipping? I'm thinking of doing multiple bottles and filters to get the free shipping.

I believe all of these style filters are luer lock on the syringe side and luer slip on the needle side. Most needles can do either slip or lock.

Nah. I posted a price breakdown of what I paid for the supplies I am personally using, but I don't sell stuff. Here's what I came up with:
If anyone is curious, my current cost for a reconstitute & filter kit made up of:
Syringe (3ml)
3x luer lock needles of various lengths and colors
0.22um filter (4mm)
Sterile vial (ALK USA made, 2ml)
Is $4.97
(or, with Amazon vials, $3.39)
I hope someone reputable ends up offering such a kit, though. I had to buy many of these things in large quantities (25-100) from multiple different vendors. It was a pain in the ass.

The Hospira bacteriostatic water I received from peptidetest.com last month was identical in all ways (down to the batch code and expiration) to the same product ordered from AMSCO.

This sterile water for injection doesn’t contain a preservative like benzyl alcohol. It’s sterile, but for single use, not multi-dose. Someone else EU-based was saying how difficult it was for them to source a water with a preservative. Do you use syringes or pens/cartridges? Maybe cartridges would be safer? Though, there must be so many of you using this.

I use syringes. I had no idea the BAC water should contain a preservative. Is that necessary when using the 2mg ampules? They are for single use.

No actually they are not. I use the 2mg ampules for my 10mg vial which I use three times over a period of 3 weeks. I am on a low dose and try to stay on low dose as long as I can. Is that problematic?

@Fonkymonky It’s not the ampoules, it’s that the water doesn’t have anything in it to prevent bacterial growth. Bac is short for bacteriostatic, basically meaning keeping the bacteria in check, that’s what the benzyl alcohol.

You reconstitute your vial, you poke your syringe in several times for doses, you can introduce bacteria. Without the benzyl alcohol, it can flourish.

Ok I get your point here. Shit I never thought about that. I do of course use a new and sterile siringe every time I usd the vial. I will check this out thank you for your imput!

You’re welcome. Like I said, there are probably so many of you having to use this, and do so w/o issue. I just wanted you to know this wasn’t “bac” water.

Again. I can’t thank you enough. I have been using the ampules since may. I am really a bit shocked here. I started using peptide Tirz together with a friend who at the time did all the research and used the ampules. I never thought bad about them. I found the real deal in the Netherlands so I ordered immediately. I hope I didn’t do any damage in the meantime. Can I check this in my blood?

Thanks again!

I’m glad you were able to find a source, hopefully it’ll help others in your situation!

I’m sure you didn’t do any damage, I think you’d feel bad by now if bacteria had taken hold? I am not a doctor, lol.

And your friend and many others use the sterile water for injection, the ampoules are sterile, just not meant for multiple pokes. But, you’re the only one using, yes?

I see they have Hospira brand, but for €25 each, ouch 😬

I ordered it on Wednesday and it came today, so 3 days, i ordered enough for free shipping as well & glad I did.

Bacteria in your blood (called bacteremia) RAPIDLY leads to sepsis and septic shock. If you feel fine, you’re not bacteremic.

I would worry about microbial growth in the vial after a few weeks if you’re only using sterile water though. No matter how hard you try to be completely sterile, small amounts of bacteria are still going to get introduced. Not an issue if using bac water because the benzyl alcohol is bacteriostatic (keeps bacteria from growing), hence the name. Without that, nothing to stop bacterial growth other than fridge temp (which slows it down but def doesn’t stop growth).

Yes in the meantime I read about it. I have been using my meds like this for months now. I feel so stupid. Hooray for this forum. Would it help to add BAC water to the vials already in use or should I just throw them away?

Bac water is not readily available in the EU. Janoshik uses sterile water for his personal use peps.

This must be a super stupid question and it might already be answered in the many BAC water topics here but is there no danger at all in injecting Benzyl Alcohol into our systems? Less dangerous than injecting bacteria I assume but I have been wondering about that.,,

It's safe for a couple of reasons :
- it's naturally present in fruits like cherries.
- the liver is able to convert it to benzoic acid and get rid of it super easily.
- it's been approved by the FDA at that dose to be safe and is used widely for injections since a long time already, like since 1940.

Not exactly true. Benzyl alcohol itself can causes hemolysis and a metabolic acidosis, but typically in doses higher than we would use. It’s also responsible for neonatal gasping syndrome- in the early 80s, a handful of neonates died after receiving medications in the NICU that contained benzyl alcohol as a preservative. There are also (very) sporadic case reports of acute benzyl alcohol poisonings leading to death. So yes, our bodies can metabolize and get rid of it… but the parent compound is not inert and can have toxic effects. However, in the amounts we typically use with peps, very unlikely to cause significant toxicity in an adult.

Yeah true, I was referring to the concentration present in BAC water, of course injecting yourself with any higher concentration can be bad like everything else

Ok thanks for this! One more question. You think I could add BAC water to the vials I am already using? Would that make any difference? Or should I best toss the vials in the bin?
